The Malibu sales guy is providing excellent customer service. He contacted someone at the factory and asked them to take pics along the way!! I am getting the Skylon Swoop tower - polished.

Levi - I hope you are right about those backrolls Chad - The colors are platinum and charcoal gray. I struggled with choosing the darker color because of the heat factor, but my light interior in the old boat got hot in the summer time too.....I'll just put extra towels in the boat! Chris - there will be a seat with your name on it for sure...come on up! Stef - That's what Josh is telling me...it's the Raider boat....he can keep THINKING that...haha!

Excellent Christie! Very nice! Malibu should give you a great deal as you are making a heck of a testimony for them with this second VLX purchase. My experience at Shasta with my BU and my current condition (older and broken) has me thinking about another VLX. The more rampy wake of the VLX is a lot more forgiving and less harsh on the body. And, the surf wake is awesome (not sure how it compares to the SAN but I bet it is better because of prop rotation and boat width).

That’s a nice looking boat! Congrats! Bet you can’t wait for it to be done. Be sure to get the pics with the polished tower when it’s on. One question for you on the color…. Is the black extending up beyond the rub rail something special ordered? My wife and I are still boat shopping and we were looking at ordering a VLX with a red main with a red first accent stripe… my dealer made it sound like the color would stop at the rub rail. That’s the second pic I have seen with color going up past the rub rail. I like it that way… it sets off the ‘bling’ of the stainless better.

Jeff - yes, it is an extra option. It's called "color above the rub rail" (at least it is named appropriately, huh?). I saw a sweet red & white one that had red for the hull and the accent with while for the main. Higher maintenance with the dark hull, but it looked sweet! I will definitely post more pics as it progresses. Hopefully, I will post pics that I take myself this weekend!!! You won't be disappointed with the VLX...it's one hell of a nice boat! Make sure you post pics when you and your wife finally decide on the color scheme!

ya you mentioned that before - that it's the swoop tower, but when i look on their site all the towers have the swoop logo next to them and none are specifically called "swoop." which one of these is it? http://www.skylonsports.com/towers.html

Christie, What are your plans for the ballast system? Will you keep the solid tanks in the back? Will you supplement them with sacks or lead? Also, is the center ballast a solid tank these days? Also, does the wedge help with surfing? I imagine not. But, left and right trim tabs would probably help a bunch.

Dane, It will probably take a little while to get the wake dialed in where I want it, but the current plan is to use all the hard tanks with the wedge and then supplement with a little lead. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure about the MLS. I think he told me that they were switching to a hard tank this year. I guess I'll find out for sure next weekend!

They left the ski locker bag a sac instead of going to the hardtank. Only the new LSV has the hardtank in the ski locker. 200 on each side of the engine (MLS tank) 500 in the ski locker.

I like the sac, they also make one thats the same width but longer (another company, not sure) and it fills up to 800. Some people also remove the hard tanks in the back and throw 540 sacs in place. Having the storage is nice tho.

Christie, you'll love it, the new Xplod sound system rocks. I added tower speakers, a 12" sub and 2 600watt amps to mine and it rocks! Bought the additional stuff off ebay (100 per amp, 50 for the sub in a box, 300 for the tower speakers), the sub was the only thing used. My boat now leaves a wake in nuetral with the sub!! Anyway, if you are doing the stereo yourself it is easy and can be very reasonable.
