I am about to buy a Moomba Outback V. When test driving I was unhappy with the performance of the "EZ Pass" system that comes stock with boat. This seems to be a subsitiute for Perfect Pass. I have never used Perfect Pass but the EZ Pass system did not correct the speed when turning or hitting choppy water. Does anyone have good/bad things to say about this system? Should I spend the $1600 for PP?
The EZ Pass is and RPM based system and won't be able to compensate for certain things. I just bought a new 2006 Supra and to upgrade to the Perfect Pass was $1200. You need to decide before you sign the papers and include the PP in the deal, otherwise you will have to pay an additional $400 for installation.
You will want PP. You can get PP delivered to your door for 1100, and installation takes about 3 hours, even for a first-timer. 1600 is a rip-off, especially since you won't likely get any credit for deleting the EZ Pass system.
