I was lucky enough to be out on the boat that day to watch Randy and shoot some photos. You can read about it in a little article on the Alliance website: http://www.alliancewake.com/default2.aspx?pg=article&id=346 It was seriously some of the best (if not the best) wake riding I have ever seen. Watching Randy ride totally changes the way you think about the sport (and that is definitely a good thing). It's not all about how big he goes, though. Just look at the tricks he does and how he grabs them. Mute BS 180 to switch mute BS 180? Plus to take them both 15' into the flast like that? It's ridiculous. Download the video to your iPods so you can watch it wherever and whenever.

Ok so im a young cat compared to a lot of folks. Ive been riding for serious for about 3 years and the only time ive ever seen randy was in mixtape. The fact that he doesnt do 7's and 9's and whirly 5's really is significant in my mind. He makes me think of riding in a different light. Not to go and learn the most rediculous stuff but make what you can do look rediculous. even his hs fs 180's look like they are the coolest tricks in the world. he also rides at a million mile an hour and and one thousand feet out. I dunno he makes me wanna do bs 180s and wrapped bs 3's instead of learning mobes and tootsie rolls. Thank you randall. too bad its october and snowing in the midwest!

Awe inspiring to say the least...its rediculous how he can bomb at the wake like that and still stay in control for tech tricks like the grabbed hs bs5. On top of that he always finds a way to make it stand out and look good. Randy is still the king of wake riding.

Considering that he is probably riding a 90+ ft rope, that distance into the flats is significant. Joe - Those Solbound guys are obsessed. My buddy Jared "The Rod" still has his, all pieced together and looking shabby. he'd rather ride them than anything. He's gonna cry when they die.

i would love to see the sport go that direction it would gain so much more mainstream acceptance. I mean 1080's are cool, but i would rather watch that video than see a 1080

Sparky, it doesn't look super slammed when he is putting his board on, platform is not under water and the nose isn't dumped.

That was out on Jeff McKee's SAN 210 with the weight set up for how Jeff normally rides, which I think is about 24 MPH at 85-87'. Randy was riding about 27-28 MPH at 87' I think. The wake was actually shrinking a little with the increased speed. Goes to show you that if you know how to edge and pop off the wake right you don't need it to be the biggest.

Speechless..... On a side note, is he regular or goofy? Watching that video it's hard to tell, he takes everything so huge. Just to be able to control all that is amazing and then add in how fast he is doing it. Hardly any pause in between cuts, switch, regular, fs, bs, that shiat is insane..... I don't think I have ever seen any video of him that aggressive in the speed of which he is doing his tricks.... maybe it's just the speed of the video itself.

The song was. "Da Rockwilder" by Method Man and Redman Although I love watching Lyman ride I dont think you can compare him and the Vandall, very very different styles.
