Andy C - Drum and Bass Arena CD1 Just downloaded this last night from www.breakbeat.co.uk, it is slammin'!!! OK not really, most of my friends just wouldn't understand it if I played it. I would fully enjoy it though, and it would give the subs a thorough workout.

damn David. That's a sweet list. ... I hope since you posted it, you don't mind if I "use" it. .... Guess i-tunes is going to be getting a lot of business from me. ... I have had many of my CD's stolen, and the rest we "borrowed." Then there is the reformatting of HD's, that almost always results in losing some music.

Over at Tigeowners we had guys post their play lists to I-Mix so others could sample the music, even if you don't use i-tunes. I really liked it. I was able to find some new bands I liked like Bouncing Souls. Guys could do the same and just put WakeWorld and a title and post it to the i-mix and others can listen to some of the songs.

I'm going to go opposite here, and not recommend atmosphere. Listening to it will make you hate yourself, life and de-motivate you for boarding. The discs I have are mainly whining about what other rappers rap about. Bash away "undergrounders". Stoopid's new cd will be out this summer. THAT will be what to play in your boat. Second that Pennywise as well.

Nice list Thomas. Also check out Streetlight Manifesto for some great modern ska and Bedouin Soundclash for some laid back reggae. All 6 of the Tim Armstrong songs that have been released so far (for free on the net) are great.

I'm down with the underground/small label rap. There's so much fresh material and style in the un-mainstream. That's about all I listen to now. I'm over the mainstream, wanna-be gangster stuff.

i guess people just don't open their eyes to new stuff (or even old stuff..) but i don't really understand the obsession with 2pac. sure he was big back in the day, but c'mon. it was a solid 10 years ago. besides, biggie is where it's at. jrod, have you checked out Brother Ali?

Jrod If you look on lyricwars.com you can find some good underground stuff. One of my best friends *tiny little white guy* can free style and battle better than anyone I have ever heard. Also you should check out DZK and omega blaze. They have some pretty good stuff. DZK would kill any rapper out there right now!

J-rod,I hear you about the mainstream stuff tho few albums are good either way. Seems like since I started listening to rap(20 years ago)that every time I start listening to some underground stuff,it becomes mainstream within 2 years tops. After it becomes mainstream some stuff loses the special quality that got it there and some stuff continues to bang and some stuff gets better! It all depends.... From the looks of this thread,I should be carrying my ipod everywhere I go.

Pac is sick to ride to and so is Notorious BIG... also like to listen to some country: a lil redneck yachtclub, Alcohol, toby keith, Kenny Chesney, and Tim Mcgraw. Not gonna lie, you can also catch some Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous playing on the tower. It was playing when i landed my first tantrum, so im a lil partial lol

nacho im down with tool. i like music that also kicks butt. pac kicks ass in the rap game. i listen to hip hop 95% of the time but i like tool, met, godsmack, all of ozzie. also for rap tech 9 is hella dope. if people played his music they would see that this guy has mad skills. i see your point about pumped up music. metal is prob the way to go.
