New boat, approx 18 hrs on it and the speedometer stopped working and PP doesn't read speed either. Think the paddle wheel is stuck? Any other ideas?

The paddle wheel is pretty easy to check. If the boat is out of the water just slide under the trailer and give the paddle a spin. Have someone watch the speedometer while you do this and see if it indicates anything.

If you are by youself (and the boat is out of the water) the sending unit disconnects from the bottom of the boat fairly easily. Pull it out and then you can spin the paddle wheel while you watch the dash yourself

You are saying both the regular stock pitot-tube type speedometer isn't working and PP speed doesn't work, right? Maybe just coincidence that they happenned at the same time. Is the stock speedometer electrical in any way? Is Perfect Pass working otherwise? Try running it in RPM Mode and see if that function is working. If nothing is working you may have electrical problems.

The pitot tubes get clogged all the time. Take the small hose off the pitot tube(s) at the stern and use a paper clip to free up any debris in the pitot tube. You can suck on the hose but I wouldn't blow on the hose (man, that sounds gross!) or you might blow debris further up the hose. Usually it's junk in the pitot tube for the regular speedometer.

My PP speed stopped working recently too. Everything else on it worked including RPM mode. The paddlewheel was fine. I finally had to do a factory reset (instructions are in the manual) and then it started working again. You may need to calibrate your speed after doing this though. I just ordered a GPS to do mine.

Good luck!

IIRC, all X-series boats from 2002 up use the paddle wheel even if you don't get PP. If both are out, I'd check the paddle wheel first.

Yep! We keep it in dry stack and they either picked it up or set it down on the paddle wheel. Crushed it!
