Y, I noticed the side cushions out. I was just wondering the purpose of the very front cushions. Looks like a great big bow. Still pisses me off that I never got in the boat at the festival, was just too busy.
Ragboy,it's in here http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showt...hp?t=783057.It It looks like they're in the back but you can see the windshield at the bottom of picture.Drew the boat is looking awesome,I bet you're going crazy waiting to take that first ride.
Quick question (since I believe both of these 226 are being built for dealers): When Wake9 did a review of the 226, the price was suppose to be +/- $55K and a great boat for the price. If you look on OnlyInboard, both of these 226 are listed for $65k. I know the surf wake is great, but what about the 226 makes it a $65K boat? The 226 seem to be a pretty basic boat (which I like) - no flat screen dash, 400 hp engine, blinged out trailer, etc.
I really was excited when the 226 was rumored to be well equipped and could be bought in the $50K. Maybe I am just missing something or its may just be the boat industry in general (the only direction in price is up)
Note: To be fair, I have an Avy that was set up about same when I bought it (ie BlackScorpion 330hp Engine, 900lbs ballast, Stargazer PP, in boat speakers, auto wake plate, etc). I never would have paid $65K for it either.
That is a sweet looking boat, Drew. BUT you can't trust those manufacturer's lake tests, better let me test it for you over the weekend, JUST to be safe. No, no you don't have to thank me, that's just the kind of guy I am!

Thanks, there is plenty of room for lots of sexy boats. Especially when they throw the same great wake on both sides with the same weight. That's the sexiest thing for me, gotta keep looking out for my mostly goofy family. ;-)
thanks guys, I was hoping Dennis would hook a bro up, and let me rep some of that crazy good Cali Liquid Trends here in the SE with this boat, guess I'll have to settle for something else....or give me a shout DMeyers
came just before dark, shrink wraped to the nines, OMG is it ever large, stoked for tomorrow and the weekend...Nationals here just outside of O'town, good times with some good friends and the 226, bring it on...stoked
A 226 can be bought for +/- 55K (depending on how it is ordered : Hurricane Graphics are $2,500.00, a Z5 Cargo Bimini is $2,500.00, etc, etc) we just can't advertise that low on onlyinboards.com.
Well, the $55k number came from the wake9 video, 2 of them. Interview with Grant Fulford, and then conversations with Drew from KalKustoms at the wake9/tige festival. That was the number being thrown around, and it was said to include options like a nice stereo, ballast, etc. Its still a good boat, for a good price, but that $55k number that was thrown around before was not supposed to be a bare boat.
Towards the end, we discuss this with Grant at CMS. I have heard that number go up to $60k from Grant since then. Knowing Grant, it is not due to an "Upsell" or anything, but just possibly an update of info from Supreme? In Grant's defense, that $55k number was thrown around at the Festival, and Drew and Vicky from KalKustoms were both there and I didn't hear any corrections.
My guess is that they probably want to be careful about pricing statements on the internet, and I can appreciate that. In the video, Grant states "in the 55k range, blinged out, speakers, ballast, etc, but not with 8.1 and switchblade" <--in quotes, but more of a paraphrase, watch last 2 minutes of the above video if you want to hear exact.
Also...when ordering my "Florida boat" it was brought to my attention that ONLY CAT engines would be offered by Supreme / Merc, add another 2 grand into the pie
Drew invited us out on his V226 while we are here in Florida, we got a few riding pictures and i finally got a chance to ride it. I'll post up some thoughts on the wake in between the events here at Nationals.

my buddy D weighin in at 275 riding a board rated for 185 max, hummmm, he actually landed a 3 today on that board today on the dark side, the pic was yesterday
We got a chance to ride this boat two days in a row. Yesterday was the second day as James was able to participate in video shoot being down by Norbi Vasko.
I really like the wake on this boat. This boat is unmodified, straight from the factory and it seems very easy to weight. Also it has the stock prop.
The transition is full and doesn't have that really steep peak where it comes down into the flats - makes it easier for flatter'ish rockered boards to turn and not stick into the flats. The wake forms fairly close to the boat, so the entire length of the wake becomes usable. It's not a 24 foot long wake, with the same 8 feet of usable pocket. It's easily one of the longest pockets available. The very back of the pocket has lots of push, it reminded me of a 2010 or earlier enzo with the prop modification. Solid push back there.
James says that the lip is solid, although in the pictures it tends to look rounded. I'm still undecided, I want to get a look at the video from Norbi. It seems to be everything you could want in the wake department, though.
We had 10 people in the boat yesterday for the video shoot and it didn't seem crowded until we went to shoot the darkside of the boat - stupid drivers seat!
It's a solid boat. Toss in some fat sacs and surf.
@ packrat, some of the enzo guys swap out the standard prop for a 14" - on those boats, it seems to dramatically increase the push from the very back of the pocket. I couldn't tell you which prop they use, though.
If you've never ridden that sort of setup, you hit all your 3's if you are used to drifting out the back. For the aerial guys, it gives them some extra speed out of the wash forward.
Thanks Drew for the pulls. The last couple of days have confirmed to me what I thought about the V226 after the Wakesurf Festival. The boat throws an outstanding wake on both sides with ease. I am amazed how little weighht it takes to get a great wake. As Jeff pointed out above I rode the Flyboy without problem even landing a 360 which takes a really good wake. I am at least 85 pounds over the real riding weight limit on the Flyboy. It takes a great wake to allow me to stay up with the boat. I would recommend this boat to anyone that wants to surf a world class wake at a budget, compared to the standard in the industry, price. The inside of the boat is so big it looks like a 24 foot boat. It handled the 10 people we had on board with ease. It was not sensistive to people being all over the boat and not just on the surf side. Drew even rode up in the bow without any real change to the quality of the wake. Check this boat out if you are in the market for a wakesurf boat.
No not at all. But normally when a bigger guy moves to the bow of a boat it will change the wake for the worse. They let you drive so you can't be like me.
Norbi Vasco just posted a link to some frame grabs from behind that boat - you can find the link in the Inland Acquires Flyboy thread. Here is one of those frame grabs from the V226.
No, you must be thinking about the lake where Nationals was held, we were in 6-to-7 foot of water there . This was a lake behind Drew's house, I don't think it's deep like in California, but adequate for making a wake.

standard rear hard tank ( depending on reg or goofy ) 300 + 500 on top in locker, + about 250 under side seat, was the same great wave on either side with 6 or 10 crew, the first night out the wife and I got it up to about 1500 with only one driving and one riding and it was almost as good, one more person would have done it.
best I can tell if it came after the other Shelby pics on that day, we only had 4 of us out, with about 1500, one great thing about the 226 is that you do not have a vent right over the rub rail, the vents are on top of the transom
We're getting real close to pulling the trigger on a '11 V226. We are headed out with Grant of CMS on his new V226, today. I'll try and photo-document our ballast setup and the resultant wake, today.
I believe that Dennis and Grant set this up with 1,600 pounds of water and we had 4 folks in the boat with one riding, I'm guessing people weight was an additional 700 pounds +/-. We had the speed set at 10.7, the trim tab at all the way down on the regular side and all the way up on the darkside.
He was! Back-to-back-to-back 3's, it was crazy. The very front of that wake has super fast water coming up the spine, and if you get your front foot on that like Dennis was doing, it would just huck you around basically in place - the wake really helped with spinning the board. Dennis found his zone and literally couldn't fall on his 3's!

I need one of those waves!!!! The "could not fall on a 3 kinda wave"!!!!? Nice job Dennis!!!

Nice looking wave. Looks very similar to an Enzo. BTW, which way does the prop spin on the Supreme 226. This seems to be basically the same set up as an Enzo (Just the opposite of a Regular Enzo or the same as a Right Surf Enzo). It really would not surprise me since the same guy designed both.
Any video of the regular side?
Note: I am not trying to start another Enzo thread. I am truly curios. I am also very interested in the Supreme 226
the trim tab at all the way down on the regular side and all the way up on the darkside.
What's Ragboy going to do? He is going to be totally thrown off that the 226 does not have the same set up on both sides. It will be very confusing for him now that he will have to put the trim tab up or down as he walks from one ballast seat to the other when switching sides
The regular wave looks messed up because James is slashing the hell out of it.If you look at the earlier picts. in this thread you can see the regular wave is clean, also read (dennish)'s comments on 09-06-2010 about how they set it up.
@Jay T, I am not trying to suggest anything bad about the 226 wave. I have heard nothing but great things. I just ride on the regular side and so do all of my friends so it would be nice to see some pics/video without a rider. Here is one pic I got from our local dealer from when he went out to CA to test it.

No problem I didn't think you were saying anything bad, just trying to help ya out.I have the 21'2" V212 and it also throws great waves on both sides for a 21' boat.Just have put a little more weight on the regular.
Lakesurfer I think this boat fits Ragboy's criteria very well. The switch from side to side will be the flip of a switch change. The difference between sides is a factor of the driver being on one side and countering the weight on the other side. The wake on both sides is world class. I am a wake snob and I want the wake to be world class on both sides. I am not sure that the same person designed both the Enzo and The v226. The Enzo was taken from a sterndrive boat and the Supreme gives you a world class wake on both sides with the flip of a switch. The Enzo has never been able to do that.
Vid from the regular side of the boat. Judy took this and she was...the third person up the bench seat, Dennis, then Grant then Judy, so the perspective is a little weird. There is a "surf series" of this boat that has at least one ballast difference than the boat we rode yesterday. This boat has that horseshoe shaped bag in the bow, with one switch to fill and drain, whereas the surf series has two bags in the bow - regular and darkside and two switches so that the ballast is isolated for the side being surfed.
Darkside wake is a little dirty, but 8 - 3's later it seems it didn't effect spinning 3's. I think James rode it backside and it had a lip, also. We lightened the ballast while I rode it and it was filthy and gutless, so weight seems to be a good thing for the darkside on this boat.
No...I didn't get any pic's of James on the darkside, but did get this picture of James from a distance "sorta" showing the pocket. We were running slow'ish at 10.7.
No one looks at both sides at the same time. When someone says, why are they different, say, "they are not". Then watch them walk back and forth a couple of times. ;-)
@ Dennis: I dont think you can have the same wave on both sides if you have the same weight and have the trim tab all the way down on one side and all the way up on the other. The change in the trim tab would just change the attitude of the boat to much. Actually the two vids above are proof (the 226 Goofy/Regular wave are not exactly the same in your vid). Either way, I personally dont care. Lets just agree to disagree (I believe you can get a very good fully automated wave on either side of an Enzo with 2,300lbs (Enzo sac and 700lbs people ballast) and trim tab and you dont) and leave this thread focused on the Supreme 226. BTW, I would be willing to bet that you have already spent more time on a 226 than you ever have on an Enzo.
@Surfdad: thanks for the vid. The regular side looks super clean and heavy.
@lakesurfer I never said that both sides were exactly the same. I said that they were both world class wakes. BTW I have spent considerable time in an Enzo as I Judged the World's several years ago. I have also spent more time riding behind an Enzo than the Supreme. I rode behind the Enzo at the World's as I was the wake test dummy to setup the wake for the contest. That process took an hour or more. I have also surfed in several contests behind Enzo's as well as free surf sessions.
