Ha Ha...Laura, How much did you get for your Bayliner when you sold or traded? I am just curious. Did you use any ballast in it? If so, did it increase the wake size? IMO, the super deep keel keeps the hull from displacing so much water, making for a mediocre wake, at best. I am wondering if you put some weight op front and push that keel down, if it would make a bigger wake?

Actually, we sold it for more than twice what we bought it for. We got $8900 for it, if you believe that! Had to be the tower . We didn't use anything but human ballast, usually about 4 good size folks. The main reason we sold it was because every time we pulled one of these 200-250 lb. guys out of the water I was just sure it was going to blow up the engine. The wake wasn't great, but it did the job for awhile. I saw a couple of backrolls and tantrums behind it.It was actually a great boat, never gave us one bit of trouble except for one weekend when we launched it, and it wouldn't start. Seems someone needed the battery more than we did. It was fun getting it back on the trailer. Believe it or not, sometimes I miss it. Usuallly right around the same time as I am making the payment on the new one!

Kelly, I don't think you can go wrong with them. Great quality, reasonable price, relatively simple install, and I like the looks better that most of the other after market brands out there. Also, when you order, they will send extra backing plates or whatever they think you will need for your particular boat. Great customer service.

Ah very nice Regal I was going to get one of those from the local dealer they had some left over 2006 models but they only had 4.3 so I didn't get one I kept my Chris Craft that is a very nice boat you have. Does it pull well? How is the wake on the Regal.

With the big air tower is there enough room for a factory bimini top? Herein Florida you cannot go out in the dead of summer without a top... Thanks for the info, I like the looks of the Big Air alot better than the others. Kelly

Hans, Where did you mount the paddle wheel for PP? I've got a Regal 2000 and I've been told because of the stepped hull PP doesnt work very well.

Matt, yes it pulls quite well. We never had problems even with about 10 people on board. The wake is not comparable to a inboard with ballast but that could be easily corrected with a little bit of fat sacks. The form of the wake is though quite steep - as always with I/O, but there is a trim-range when no foam is on the crest. Mark, don't worry, it works. I placed some 5 cm from the stern, and about 10 cm from the keel to the port-side. I had no problems. In the speed range that we need it for wakeboarding it is absolutely OK. However if you reach maybe 35 miles and air is mixed into the water flow the speed-reading is actually lower than the true speed, which makes PP open the throttle even more. Quite funny. Overall I was impressed how easy driving became with it. P.S: I also had some sleepless nights before drilling the hole...

Heres my 2000 180Sea Ray. I was actually curious if any of you guys could give me pointers on weighting it. As of right now I use a 750lb bag in the back and 3 or 4 people on a regular basis.

Nice Sea ray you were able to mount your tower up a little further towards the bow than I was your is about in the location I wanted mine to be but I could not get in the gunnel to do it but either way it turned out very nice I love the tower it makes a world of difference does your sea ray put out a decent wake? Do you fat sac your boat?
