haha, this is a broad topic. Isn't most of this kind of moot since one entity owns almost all the companies now?

Your riding style and personal preference is what will make the most difference....Everyone is going to tell you that what they are happy with is the best. Go demo some gear and check out the differences yourself. If you are new to the sport, go to your local shop and start asking questions, but not like the one you asked above. Ask them about Demo's, reg. customers that you could go out with (bring $$ for gas), the shops warranty, ect. Then decide what you like best. If you are down to 2-3 boards and cant make up your mind, then come on here and ask. BTW, my personal preference is CWB....

I used to be a hype guy but after falling in love with CWB's 06 bindings I'm going to have to support them and their quality product...

This post is gonna get a lot of hits with people arguing about which company is the best. I have no idea which is better because I own a freemotion and it's my first board. who owns freemotion anyway?

a guy named BOB A for real the best board/bindings are usually the ones we are riding at the time ..usually that can changed annually or every other year.. overall all the big companies are having a lot of warranty issues and overall they are handling them pretty well...

Ya, I'm sorry I can't name the corporate owner. I think I got the info from an interview in Alliance mag. with Paul O'Brien about why he left Hyperlite and started his new company. He was talking about this investment group that basically just started buying up all the wakeboard and accessory companies a couple of years ago. I know there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this board who could probably explain it in detail, but it probably doesn't matter with respect to what company you want to do business with today. I currently own hyperlite boards and cwb bindings. It's like golf, it is more fun to buy new equipment and play with it than buy a lesson and go to the range. I'm just so happy to be stoked about the sport and enjoy riding so much that all the rest is just frosting.

I think the answer has to do with where you live and what product is best represented in your area. You could probably find a Pro Model board you enjoy riding from any of the top companies---they all strive to put out the best quality product they can. I am a huge CWB fan due to product availability, customer service and support of local events. Steve Bates, the CWB rep in our area is one of the busiest guys you will ever meet. He is at all the events, shows, demo day, learn to ride days, etc. The product is inovative, ever evolving and warranty/sevice is excellent. Some guys like Chevys, some like Fords. Some like bleach blondes with fakies, I prefer brunettes as they are.......decide for yourself.

I hate all of them! None of them will do the stuff in the magazines and catalogs. Like I bought this Premier one time, at band camp, and tried one of Harf's signature tricks......didn't land it! Yeah...total rip off!
