On a V-drive, the V-drive is permanently attached to the tranny, and the motor. There is no adjustment between the two as far as alignment. When the shaft comes out of the v-drive, there is a coupling to the prop shaft. This is where the alignment occurs, but you have to move the entire engine/v-drive to align it, make sense?
