You need to: 1) tell us what you'll be using the boat for - wakeboarding, waterskiing, hydrofoiling, wakeskating, wakesurfing, kneeboarding, tubing, just plain cruising/hanging out, or some or all of the above 2) give a rough budget of the upper end of what you want to spend. Saying that you're not ridiculously rich is fine, but a statement like that is very subjective. Some that consider themselves "not so rich" have $50,000 boats, so you need to tell us your budget 3) how many people you take with you when you go to the lake/river The people on this board are pretty knowledgeable, but can't help you if you don't state what you want out of your new (or new used) boat. Did I miss anything guys?

I don't think so. I just cannot stop thinking about a Duo tri hull.... orange with a 75 hp Evinrude outboard.

LOL! I grew up with Tahitis with the big Mercury outboards. Not much out of the hole (at least compared with a good inboard), but boy they could scoot once they were out.

I skied behind a 1979 Invader Tri-Hull with and evenrude 115. My dad still has the boat, and it still runs as good as the day he got it. I tried wakeboarding behind it, and had the hardest time getting out of the water. At first I told him to go easy on it, since wakeboards don't take much power to get going. Then each time I kept asking for more power, untill he said that was all it has. Shows you how much differance there is between a 330 HP inboard, and a 115 outboard. For $20Kish, I would look at used Malibu Boats. If you are not dead-set on an inboard, then I would look at Rinker or Four-Winns.

I recently bought a 92 Mastercraft Prostar 205 for 13k and have been pleased with it. Low hours, tower, racks, stereo, will easily seat six, and will throw a huge wake with added weight or a totally skiable wake w/o. I also agree with Robert, a used Malibu would be a great boat as well. SFH

Nick, Mid-90's MC 205, CC Sport Nautique, Malibu Sunsetter w/Wedge would all be good choices as crossover boats. I would lean toward the Malibu because of the Wedge, layout & better versatility than the other 2 (IMO), but that's just me.

Keep Supra and Moomba in mind. Best bang for the buck out there.
