Hello all. I know that these requests come up all the time, but I appreciate any input! We have a max of $30k to spend and want a v-drive. We want a decent wakeboard and surf wake, and something that will handle chop on busy days at the lake for the family...I have gotten down to these (all are similarly equipped, and reasonable hours) 2007 Sanger V215, $29K 2005 Supra 21V $30K 2003 Tige Tige 24v $31K 2002 Mastercraft X30 $30K 2005 Centurion Elite V $29K I am leaning toward the Sanger, but with two small kids (2&5) the low freeboard scares the wife. Thanks for the help as this will be our first inboard. -Nick (Message edited by npro on August 03, 2009) (Message edited by npro on August 03, 2009)

i'dprobably go with the supra. love the sanger, but like you said, low freeboard. the 21v has always done a body good.

I'm not a Sanger owner, but everyone here says great things about them. The freeboard is not that low for your kids. They could get on the back seat of any boat and climb out. They're not going to fall out on their own. I think you need to get your wife and kids in the boat. An 07 boat for 29k sound better than the older ones for the same price. The MC might be ok, but it is 7 years old. 03 Tige I'm not too excited about. Good luck.

The older Sangers had low freeboards as well as their v210's but the v215 I thought was fairly deep. From driving both models, I would go with Sanger over Supra and all the other ones are too old but then again what kinda shape and history they are in we dont know.

go with the Sanger. We a a 215 and it does not have a low freeboard like the 210. We have a 2 and 5 year old. Our 5 year old grew up on the boat and we have had no issues. Throw that out the window.

24v might be one of the best surf boats ever made. Super deep hull and handles rough water like a champ. They have the most freeboard of any boat I have ever been one and they are really well made.

Another vote for Sanger. Only the V-210 has the low freeboard, (Sexy low I might add,) our kids grew up in ours and nobody ever went flying out of the boat! Most people may not realize that inside the boat, the seatbacks are probably the same height as most other inboard tournament boats. It's just that you sit closer to the water. I really wouldn't want to sit down so low inside a boat so as not to be able to see out. my $.02

Btw the Sanger and Supra IMHO. Depends on which one has the options, hours, etc.

As my dealer put it: With higher freeboard boats, you can't reach over the side and grab your kids in the water like you can on the Sanger (V210 that is). Try that one on the wife.

How good are the dealers--that would be a main decision factor for me? My vote would be for the Supra. One of my buds has a 21V and that boat is bad ass.

Supra 21V no doubt. Huge free board/gunwales, nice steep poppy wakes, buttery smooth rough water ride, meaty meaty wakes, and tons and tons of storage. For 30k though what kind of options does it have? Seems low on price.

Sanger or supra depending on options and how well the boat was cared for, service records ect, is what I would want to see.

How about a brand new 2008 Supreme V-220 loaded for $30k? (I figure if you are looking at Sanger and Centurion, you may want to take a look) I have one if you want it.

Year is not the only factor. How many hours and how well maintained are they? You can't go wrong with Master Craft provided it has been well maintained. Have you looked for any Used X2? Or used SAN 210? There may be some close to your price range in the classified if you don't mind a drive to pick up.

Thanks for all the input! I have been leaning toward the supra or sanger. Both are very well maintained and super clean with current records and relatively low hours. Jesse, I have ridden behind both the x2 and SAN and while they have amazing wakes, the interior is a little cramped, and don't do well driving across the lake on the weekend. Are the Supra and Sanger good deals? We are currently at the top of our price range.... Thanks again...this really helps!

For surf and chop go with the 24' boat... also with a family/kids more room is never bad. Just a straight up wakeboard boat I would go Supra

we love our supra and have 2 kids 9 and 11....they too love the boat. playpen bow and all weight bags hidden and a killer wake....cant go wrong. the other thing I like is it has a real beefy look to it not the look of a straight ski boat per se (Message edited by absoluteboarder on August 06, 2009)

With the choices you gave I would go with the Sanger or Supra based on age and price. I think the Supra is a better built boat, but it's got 2 more years of use so that sets them even. The MC and Tige are older then I would go based on you $30K budget. Name is not worth the difference in age. (MC is 5 years older then the Sanger) ****Above statement assumes all boats are in the same physical condition. You really need to see, feel and ride the boats. That MC may have been babied it's hole life while the Sanger was beat. In that case I would got with the MC. It really all depends how the boats have been treated. When I purchased my used boats I would always buy bang for the buck. When I bought my V210 I had an MC and a Malibu at the same price, but the sanger had been very well taken care of and the MC and BU were just OK condition.
