murph, sounds like some gain hiss. From the gains up too high. Happens a lot. So the only thing you can do it re tune the system with the amp and back the gains down a bit. Once you get them set, this will be the max volume you can get with the power you have. 220 should be good power. If you add in the 420, you will up the voltage going into the amps. So the amp gains will not need to be up as high, thus lowering the noise floor. This results in a cleaner signal all the way around. Just remember that it doesn't matter where the gain is at as once the gain is set at unity, that is the max power the amp can produce. So higher gain does not make the amp put out more power.
