I saw a couple of threads about smoke and thought it might be helpful for folks to hear whether a respirator is needed....
I'm selfishly interested in Oroville, but how about Shasta Don Pedro Hogan Bullards (reported on a separate thread) Delta mcClure Melones Berryessa others...
Work in a downtown Sacramento highrise building. I can say that it looked back 2 days ago with 5 miles of visibility. Yesterday was 3 and today, we would be luck for 2 miles.
Im looking out the window at Shasta right now and the smoke has pretty much cleared here but its really bad up toward Trinity and Whiskytown still. We had reservations for Whiskytown for the 4th but im thinking we'll be camping at Shasta intead.
Ukiah / Lake Mendocino, the radio recomended any persons outside should be wearing respirators. Ive been trying to stay inside and my throat and lungs are really starting to bug me.
******Hijack******Is that Raquel or Shawna doing what looks like a sick Tootsie Roll? That smoke is crazy by the way. Not that bad in the south bay. Hows visibility at the Delta?
Gina: When it's that Smokey you should "TRY" and limit yourself going outside and doing any kind of exersize. Or just take deep breath's low to the ground where its not so smokey.
Steve,if you're going to the Bidwell side, it might not be quite as bad. Hope you have a great time anyway! Jason, that is Shawna doing a Tootsie Roll.
I just talked to my daughter who is living on shasta lake for the summer. She said no smoke plenty of wind. Possibly more lightning tonight. Lets hope not.
