Great suggestions so far. Couldn't help myself on commenting. This is probably the best list of music I have seen on this board yet. David Jackson: You've managed to mention 2 out of 3 of my favorite hip hop artists! If you like J5 and Blackalicious then Styles of Beyond should be in your collection. It's more difficult to find but worth it when you do....both SOB discs are great. David Burns: I do appreciate the music off of the beaten path especially the Sex Pistols. Dylan, three days grace is a remake of Ugly Kid Joe's (i hate)everything about you isn't it? If i'm not mistaken they came out with the song in 1991 or 92.

I have not listened to music while riding (and if I did have music playing, I'd probably not notice anyway, being too preoccupied with trying not to die). Were I to select the top five songs that I should be listening to, they would be: 5. "Sea of Heartbreak" by Don Gibson 4. "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot 3. "Rattled" by the Travelling Wilburys 2. "Wipeout" by the Safaris (?) 1. "O Fortuna" Carl Orff See a trend? By the way, Nick, there are some genres, artists, and songs that I do not care for, but that does not mean that they suck, or that I have carte blanche to belittle others because their tastes are different than mine.

Actually, Nick, I'm 33 now, and I have actually never been into what the rest of my generation would consider worth listening to. My musical tastes tend to be whatever sounds good to me at the time, without any real restrictions based on genre (though I do not normally listen to hip-hop, I do have to respect the artists for the talent that they have). As far as my 20's, I'll just say that I did not use them to their full potential - which is probably why I'm just starting to wakeboard now.

Nobody mentioned Pep Love, Swollen Members, Code Name: Scorpion or any of the other bas a$$ tunes from Free 4 All. Glad to see Jurassic 5 mentioned - these guys have such a good sound. Not as tight/thoughtful/positive as Pep Love, but damn good. A great recipe for the second-string CD - mix equal parts Pep Love Ascension, J5 Quality Control, J5 Power in Numbers and Code Name: Scorpion. Sprinkle a little Outkast, Ludacris, Tupac, Wu Tang Clan, Linkin Park, Obie Trice and Mace. Ensure most F4A tracks are on it, in a row for easy access. chris - "and if I did have music playing, I'd probably not notice anyway, being too preoccupied with trying not to die" lol. exactly. i never hear the music when i start riding. i hear it playing as i get up and then i don't hear it after that. danny - have you heard rbf's cover of duran duran's 'hungry like the wolf'? omg that's awesome. sean jackson turned me on to that one. canaday - i prefer the 'mmnamana' song. overall im surprised (but probably shouldnt be), at the predominance of hip-hop/rap/and alt/heavy rock. i guess that's what's mostly popular. but given the wide-ranging demographic of wakeboarding (and especially its skew towards the upper end), i would have expected more variety in style and genre.
