A little bleach on the spot is all I can think of. Course I am a typical "pigpen" so clean is not my specialty.

Shout (or something similar) works great - especially the gel kind that you rub in.

Lol. Try oxyclean. Soak them in a clean bucket and a strong mixture.

I got oil on a new pair of white shorts after doing an oil change on the boat. I put normal car degreaser on the stain went for ride and it came out.

Oxy Clean is the way to go. If you put a scoop of it with hot water in a zip lock bag with your favorite hat (yeah, the one that's too gross to wear) it will be like new in 30 minutes. Same with trunks.

I have a pair of white board shorts and use bleach every time. Always clean and never a problem.

I would second the idea of OxyClean. While I haven't used it on board shorts, every thing else I've used it on has been no match for it. Oxy kicks dirt's butt. Heck, I used it on months old makeup spilled on my carpet and covered by my daughter. Rug cleaner didn't make a dent. Oxy Clean totally removed it.

Believe it or not....Baby wipes work good on getting stains out also. I never knew about it until I had a kid but they are awesome.

IMO I would say trash-can and get a darker color like grey, brown or black. TOO much work keeping them white, and you don't have to wash darker colors every day.

What fabric are they made of? Check the tag and get back to me. There's hardly ever been a stain I couldn't remove out of clothing. Now carpeting...when our big arse saltwater tank decided to take a whiz all over our apartment floor...that's another story.

The Clorox Bleach Pen works on my white boardshorts. Can find it at any grocery store. Great for spot cleaning whites. http://cloroxbleachpen.com/

For polyester...try Shout before washing them. I keep the Tide stain pen in my car and it's more for right when you spill stuff on you and isn't a pretreatment for fabric like Shout is. Be sure that you DO NO THROW THEM IN THE DRYER until you are absolutely sure the stain has been lifted. The heat from the dryer will set the stain. Best of luck to you.

ERA, hands down. If you just have dirt/gross water contamination, ERA is the bomb. If they're really screwed up, ERA with some bleach once the cycle starts.
