i'm a beginer (can wake jump and do a few grabs) and am wondering if a spectra line makes that much difference over poly-e? anyone help me out?

It doesn't have to be spectra, just non-stretch. The poly-e ropes have a lot of stretch to them which will cause you problems as you start going bigger. <BR>

you definetly want a spectra line, poly-e still has some stretch in it. when your loading the line, stretch just takes away what you are building up.

i was landing inverts last year with one of those poly-e lines. but this year i bought the spectra which is amazing. for some reason it feels so much better and I get consistent line tension, especially on double ups. Go for the non-strech spectra. if you can cash out another $20, go for the spectra fusion which is really great and nice on the hands. <BR>

I'm what I would call a very beginner...we went out on my brothers 16ft outboard today. For a rope all he had was a poly-e. I kept getting tripped up by the spring back of the rope everytime I loaded up to go w2w. Made me realize just how good my Spectra line is.

I've been knocked out by the spring in the poly-e, i loaded the line up and then the moment i pop, just got pulled right forward onto my face
