In Norcal you will want a 4/3. Modern suits are so stretchy that you dont notice the difference in flex/stretch, but you will notice a big difference in warmth.

Chest zip is a little tougher on/off, but the benefits are definitely worth it to me. The suit is a lot more flexible because there isnt a stiff point running down your back, and there is less chance for water to get in your suit I use the Oneill...
