rallyart made a post in this thread: I/O Prop Pitch ???
Aluminum props do fail quicker than a stainless and it matters what your water conditions are like. If there are branches, pieces of wood or a sandy bottom you might hit a stainless prop will last much better and cost less over time. If you are ...

rallyart made a post in this thread: Towing Myth Busted-Audi
Rick, apparently people (some) think the myth is not busted. Perhaps it has little to do with how well something tows a boat and more about how people feel about trucks. I notice that nobody has made any comments about a 20' wheelbase 18,000# Pe...

rallyart made a post in this thread: I/O Prop Pitch ???
I would agree with going stainless if you change props. They are more efficient. For hole shot on a boat like yours there are several things that will help other than the prop. Adding trim tabs has numerous benefits. Bennett hydraulic ones work...

You are down over 20% power at that elevation so a quick guide would be to run 20% less pitch than stock. If stock is 17.5" pitch then drop 3.5" of pitch to 14". You're just looking for torque multiplication to get the power back. At that pitch...

rallyart made a post in this thread: Newbie with new boat
Trim tabs can adjust the roll on a boat really effectively which makes it run more effectively on the hull. Your ride is then more comfortable and efficient. With both down you can drop the nose of the boat at lower speeds which makes heading i...

rallyart made a post in this thread: Newbie with new boat
Getting power trim tabs is a very useful addition to any boat. They really don't help with wake but they really help with hole shot and comfort, in addition to making the hull adaptable for storm conditions. PerfectPass, or something comparable i...

rallyart made a post in this thread: Connecting bronze and stainless pipe fittings?
That is 304 Stainless and it should not be affected by the bronze or brass it is in contact with but it may cause some increase in the corrosion in the bronze. That's more important if you are in brackish or salt water. I would put connect it in...

The Chubby is rock solid and a bit taller than many others. If you like that tower's looks you will never have an issue with it. Some other towers fold down lower if garage door height is an issue.
