2009 Hyperlite Catalyst 114
How do you improve the winningest shape in wakeskate history? Easy, enlist the help of Scott Bouchard. That's right, Butch and Grubb teamed up to shape everything Grubb was looking for. The new and improved Catalyst series starts with a blended three-stage rocker line to generate more speed into the wake. Butch built a wider overall profile for increased surface area to give Grubby the extra wake-to-wake pop he wanted. To ensure the ride was not too loose, however, the pair designed dual base channels for tighter edge hold into the wake. Finished off with more pronounced concaves and a hybrid EVA / grip tape top, the Catalyst is built to win another generation of titles.

Great board. A lot of people say this board is just for wake to wake tricks, but it works great for skate style tricks also. The blended EVA foam top has a ton of grip that dampens the vibrations from the water. It sticks to your feet so easily in the air for 180’s and 360’s. Insane pop off the wake. Wider board for bigger feet. All around it’s the best board I’ve had.

Great board. Tracks more like a wakeboard than a skate. Floats extremely well especially for a larger rider. I can actually ride this board at around 3-4 mph less than other boards. All around great design!

Depending on what kind of rider you are, this board is awesome. It edges like a wakeboard, does great wake to wake, and great landings. Although this board may not be the right choice for some riders who prefer a lighter, quicker spinning board. But overall, I would definitely suggest it
