2011 O'Brien Format 137
Josh Sander's all-new pro model features O'Brien's newly-minted Fusion Core. Using top-to-bottom full length wood stringers, we were able to both reduce the overall volume of the board and decrease the weight of the fiberglass laminate, creating a board that is up to 1.5 lbs. lighter than our standard core. We've also re-invented the progressive rocker by lifting the centerline of the board towards the tips, resulting in more vertical pop with no loss of speed to the wake. A subtle double concave through the clean midsection of the board softens impact on landings. The base of the deck is finished off with four 0.7-inch Spine fins, our signature Delta Base for a faster ride and a full length step-down rail to increase edge hold.
Shape: Sanders / C. Johnson.

AMAZING!!
By far one of my favorite boards I've ever ridden. Tons of pop off the wake but still maintains a super soft landing. The wood stringers definitely reduce weight by a lot. The Format set up is a awesome board and I'd recommend it to anyone. Personally I'm looking to try a flex board from O'Brien next year (either the Paradigm or Baker) but if I'm not a fan of how the flex feels, I'm definitely riding the format again!!
If your looking for lots of pop with super soft landings, a light board and a clean graphic, buy the format!
