2008 Byerly Monarch 56
Scott and Butch have done it again! The Byerly Monarch is the newest addition to the family. With input from Robby, Ross and Kyle, Butch set out to build his best shape yet. Beginning with a mellow blended 3-stage rocker and shorter 9 molded fins, this shape is faster and releases off the wake quicker than previous Byerly models. New molded footbed contours keep the board rigid in the center to maintain the rocker line for consistent pop. The board then blends into a lean tip and tail for maximum flex and snap off the wake and when initiating edges. In addition to the new shape, the Monarch also features fully machined Atomic Core. This material is lighter, snappier and stronger than traditional foam core boards. At 6 lbs. this is Scotts lightest shape to date and one of the lightest on the market.

The Byerly Monarch 56" 142 has the softest landings & one of the best pops off the wake from all the boards I have ridden and owned 7-8 boards, coming off a LF-Shane 140. Spins are executed easily since the board feels light in the air even though it looks big. Great landings! Holds an edge well but need to lean into it a little more than some other boards.

The Monarch has extreme pop, more than any board I have ridden and keeps a loose snowboard feel. The landings are much more forgiving than past Byerly models and are very similar to the Premier. The landings are soft and the board tracks out well, the lack of a center fin is not missed. Even at the 56 142 the Monarch is easy to spin off the wake, a lot of it is contributed to the lightweight design. The Monarch keeps a excellent transition to pop at the wake.
