I think its important to get something out of the way first. You hear alot of comments about "hard to get into bindings without lube etc". For starters, bindings that fit properly should not be easy to get on. Many bindings are damaged over the long haul by not using lube to enter them. This accounts for some of the breakage one hears about. Alot of this equipment is big time expensive so I always try to use lube in an effort to extend the life of my boots. This is applicable to the Era binding as well. After you have been at it awhile you begin to understand what you need and what you want in a binding. Feet are alot like people, one size does not fit all and a boot size does not always tell you the whole truth when considering a binding. My favorite boot to date has been the 2007 Xenon, mainly because of its comfort and flexibility. Some don’t like that much flex, others do, it depends on how you ride, there are alot of factors, you begin to get the drift. Here’s the bottom line on the 07 Era... IF you have a NARROW FOOT, its going to be hard for you to find a better binding. If you have a wide/fat foot you probably should look somewhere else or at least consider a size bigger than you normally would wear.
The looks of this boot combined with the board it was made for is pretty sweet. The Era’s are comfortable just not quite as comfortable as my O’Brien Xenon’s but because of my narrow foot, the Era FITS BETTER, so I have a little more control and a little better ride when wearing the Era boot. They fit more like a glove than they do a boot if that makes any sense. One of the drawbacks of most hyperlite boots for recreational riders like myself, and the Era is no exception, is the screw claw that they use. Again some people like it, but in my view there is only 2 words for the hyperlite claw "it sux". Instead of the easy hand tightening wing nut type claw that O’Brien uses, you have to break out a screw driver, and hope you don’t drop it overboard or strip out the screw head, or loose parts like the screw, 2 washers etc etc. Hyperlite should really think about changing this but this problem isn’t the boots fault and you can buy aftermarket wing nuts to eliminate the problem or change out the screw yourself with parts from a hardware store. Overall, sometimes its hard for me to choose between the two best bindings I have come across so far for the way I like to ride.
If I’m riding my Era board then there is no choice, its the Era boot. I also ride 2 or 3 other boards and if the claw was easier to change out without having to use tools, the Era boot might be the only one I would wear.

I love these bindings. Hold really nice and they are soft. I used to ride some old 3060’s and the design is basically the same. Zero heel lift. Comfy as hell and easy to get in and out of. A little hard to get into at first when brand new, so warm em up in the tub before you go out the first time. Seriously a great binding if you want hold and support thats just right.

These are very nice bindings, when you put your foot in its very confotable, although the first time using these I couldn’t get my foot out of the binding. It took a lot of soap and water... I got a couple of round candles and jamed them in the bindings to loosen them up. Now they’re perfect. Just takes some breaking in to do, I’m glad I didn’t find this out at the lake..

These are some sick bindings. They look amazing and are very comfortable w/ great support. The foodbed is really comfy but i would liked it to be a bit more gripy, but i guess that’s a what you lose for more comfort. Overall these are great bindings, perfect for all riders even for beginners but def more for intermediate to advance riders.

last years fell apart but these ones seem to stay intact.

I have to review these bindings because last year i bought some and destroyed them in 3 days, then i slammed them on this very site. I got a pair of brand new era 2007 and you can buy them without fear because if last year the material on the top was like leather (and i know a lot of personns who destroyed them because of the leather wich was too tightened) this year they put another material wich is a bit like plastic and it has much space than before so it won’t explose because of a lack of space when you put it on. The look is even greater than last year, they are comfy enough, support, hold and release well. The laces are okplus the strap, works very good.there are not too heavy. And last but not least you can see the lion of Judah on the front of the footbed. So if you like the look and search for a good binding with a good hold but not too much...buy them!
