2006 CWB Zeus
A mainstay in the boot line, the Zeus was presented with Hinge Tech, and gladly obliged. The Hinge allows us to create the ultimate boot that is easy to step into and out of with little or no effort. Save your energy for riding. Packed with high performance features like a molded, lycra-lined toe, molded rubber heel with perfectly placed achilles pads, thick and high stiff wrap, dual lace adjustment, gorilla grips, thick triple-density footbed and, of course, Hinge Tech. No other binding has the feel or response the Zeus does. One of the most respected boots in the industry just got an overhaul. This is the one everyone will be talking about

I used to ride the LF Transits 2005 and the Sphynx for 2006, but once I strapped the Zeus on, it was no turning back. Amazing heel hold down, and so comfortable. Personnaly feel that its better than the Watsons anyday. Love them.

Good boots. I have a big foot so getting in without lube is a little difficult. Again the big foot makes the boot a little uncomfortable since the boot is a little narrow in width. But, with the hinge tech and the support spend the extra money and get the zeus.

These boot are great because they really hold your heal down better than any boot out there and have great ankle support. The hinge holds almost to tight if you really have the laces cranked down. On several bad falls my foot only came partially out. Making the hinge hard to unlatch with out undoing the laces. Laces tear easily but that is better than the rest of the boot tearing. The boot is a little thin on the inside and wore through causing a blister on my upper heal but they still held the best of any other boot. I have a narrow foot and went down a size to stretch them out a little.

This is the most comfortable boot I have worn. I haven’t had any issues with them. The cable system is adjustable, so when they loosen up after time, you simply tighten the cable. No slime and a great fit... if you can fork out the cash.

the hinge seems like a good idea, but for advanced riders that will be landing hard on inverts or mobes, this isnt the boot for you. the hinge will pop open time to time resulting in your foot coming out and then a face plant.

overall this is a great binding great footbed that really cushions your feet on the landing. the hinge at first is really stiff doesnt help all that much but after 5 or 6 runs really loosen up and make for a great ride. again first few rides are uncomfortable and feel like the bindings to tight but in time really work in nice and become really comfortable but lose a little hold but they are great. i love them

The Hinge system is a joke...Save no time whatsoever, cause you can’t latch it without sliming the sole. The lower part over your foot is absolutely crushing, feet go numb after 30 seconds. A friend of mine ripped out every lace loop the first time he tightened his up...way to go with quality, CWB! Decent support, but who wants a huge hunk of metal sticking off the back of their boots? If you want a good, supportive binding that’s easier to get in and out of, look to the LF Shanes or Watson’s. Much more comfy.

I found that the Zeus was a great binding. All my friends and family were impressed with them too. This is a great buy.

Pro:
1. Extremely easy entry and exit.
2. Great Heel Hold.
3. On the first few go the down - hold of the binding is too tight that blood is not flowing to my toe. But after the binding starts to break in, it feels great.
Cons:
1. Quality is not consistent.
2. Laces of the binding is too long.
3. Footbed is too big. Dunno why large-medium-small size seems to have same footbed size.

Since I rely on these reviews for my purchases I thought I should contribute. I just bought the CWB Zeus to replace the ’03 Parks and I think they are great. I changed bindings because my front foot would sometimes slide forward in my binding (I think this was partially due to having the wrong size binding). Everything CWB advertises about the Zeus being easy to get into and holding your foot tight is true. What I found most surprising though was how soft the footbed felt on my landings. I barely felt the impact when I hit the water as compared to my Parks. My buddy has the Liquid Force Transit bindings which are very comfortable as well, but I would still recommend the Zeus because of their support, feel and ease of entry/exit.

These are great high end bindings. This season I switched from a pair of Nice PRS1 bindings that I thought I might never replace - but these are better. The way I ride, I’ve always had trouble with my feet slipping forward, but not on these. Something about the way the hinge locks your heel into the pocket keeps everything locked in tight but still comfortable. And of course they’re easy in and out - no more shaving cream.

htese boots are very uncomfertable, the are SOOO stiff. The laces brake and the cote on the wairs of and the clips dont stay. The hing digs into the back of the boot and they get jammed

The footbed is a little soft, but the binding was an easy choice over every binding in that price range and higher.

these are by fair one of the industrys finest bindings for the year. Definitly one of the most inovative designs. With all the hype on the closed toe bindings this year the Zeus’s are in a relm of there own. The thing about these bindings is you get the ease of entry and ease of release with out sacrificing any performance issues. The hinge on the back releases the binding to pull back so you can slide your foot right in and when you pull it up its a nice snug all-over feel. Not pressure points like you get in some bindings. They also have tremendous heal support similar to the hyperlite 3DS bindings. In the Zeus’s you get the full package without sacrificing performance. CWB is at the top of there game with inovation, it may have taken awhile for them to get it refined and out there, but i feel that after the release of these bindings CWB will get the credability they deserve.

I have 04 zues’s and i tried a pair of these on at the 06 chicago boat show and instantly baught them. The difference is pheominal, you would not regret this purchase 100% worth every penny!

I have always been someone who didnt care what bindings you rode. As long as the board and binding was decent, then everything else depended on technique. That was my philosphy. I have been riding collective development bindings for the past 3 years, which I bought on ebay for $80. Well for Christmas I got these, and all I have to say they are amazing. When you flip the hinge up, your heel gets sucked into the binding. I never thought something like this was possible in a binding. Very nice, I guess you get what you pay for.

Having owned the 04 zeus and trying out many different bindngs, I wanted to stick with the zeus, but I didn’t really think that the hinge was going to help the ride and was a bit gimmicky. I tried the 06’s on and instantly knew that they were a much classier boot. Comfort plus, but for me, someone who rides very ankle heavy, I needed tight heel lockdown (hence the original zeus’s for the gorilla grips). The 06’s do not dissapoint. Entry is obviously a cinch, and getting out is no problem either. I might go against the mainstream a little and say that the boot would have been a success without the hinge too. Sometimes (very rarely) the laces get wrapped around the hinge and its a pain to get off, but apart from this, it’s all good.

Coming from a set of CWB Mobes, to these has been the best decision i ever made. the difference is out of control. The hold, support and suction on your heal really gives great board control and feel.
the support is really noticed when hitting kickers, on edge and landings.
The hinge tech makes access really easy, and release is pretty good too. there is a nice little sleave to slide the laces through once you have done them so the wont slop around, and the soft foodpad feels like your landing on a soft pillow.
the hinge tech lets my size 8/9 foot fit into a large binding. The adjustment you can get out of the hinge tech is awesome. it lets anyone from a ’big medium’ to a ’small xl’ finto into the large binding comfortably without compromising performance.

My first ride in these was at a tournament. I stepped in cinched the laces and then clicked the Hinge Tech into its locked position and hot damn these things are comfortable!! I liked the earlier Zeus but these are on a whole new level, there are no pressure points just perfect even hold down that feels like your foot is being cradled from all sides. Entry was clearly the best ever, hold down was impeccable, the footbed was so plush and despite all they have going on they were easily tweakable & not stiff at all. Honestly the best boot ever, get em and you will see what its all about.
