2003 O'Brien Player 138
Daniel Watkins has spent a lot of time and energy creating his all new pro model, the Player Series. These boards feature molded in fins and cupped rails along the tip and tail. The step down rails allow the board to roll on edge with ease. A nice flat spot in the center coupled with a subtle 3-stage rocker gives the Player smooth landings and ultra pop off the wake. The Player series can be ridden finless or with our all new Rail 0.9" fins depending on your riding style. Remember, dont hate the player, hate the game

its not as good as you think. it has prety average pop. i have never ridden my player on a slider but i still managed to snap it in 2. it cracked down the centre of my back foot. also the base started to bubble and de-laminate. i dont think i will ever buy an obrien again.

If you like huge pop, this is the board for you. If you are use to a continious rocker it will take some getting use to. The boards a little slow but makes up for it with huge pop. Tracks well, and excellent for inverts. Also the board is very light.BIG PIMPIN

I came off an Obrien Ambush. This board has more "pop" off the wake, it is also tighter to the water. The TON of fin it has, 10 total! hooks up well. Swithes are tougher without hopping first. It’s tough to break the board loose from the water. Also, I have noticed that the Ambush will lean over more when turning away from the wake. The front leading edge seems low, and water comes over the board very easily. I fell a few times at first just moving away from the wake, and catching the edge and doing a header. I cannot lean it as far over moving away from the wake with my toes out. After getting used to the difference between the boards, I dig the Player ALOT more. Also, mine is a 143, and the binding mounting holes are the widest of any other Obrien, and possibly any other board period. Don’t feel compelled to move the bindings all the way out. It’s VERY wide, and uncomfortable for me, and I’m 6’1. The board is SUPER light, and mine has EXIT-13 bindings, that came on it. I love the bindings as well. also very very light. Landing in the flats is softer than the Ambush I believe. Later, Darin

I absolutely love this board! HUGE pop off the wake, nice soft landings, and great control. Board could be a litlle faster, but no complaints otherwise.

Good Board. Only thing missing is the boardspeed. Huge POP of the wake. Smooth landings. Much Better landings then the Shapiro. Spins are good, releases off the wake early. Snowboard-wakeboard feel. Go finless. Tracking is awesome.

very slow board. Too much work to make it do what I want.

I loved this board, I got a hold of one early from a friend who works for obrien. Anyway this thing rocks, it had huge pop and pretty soft landings, I have not hit a slider yet with it I live in oregon so they are kind of hard to find. This board can be kind of loose, but if you dont rush it, and really put it on edge it tracks great and you can get a ton of spead in to the wake.
