2003 Hyperlite Byerly 142 DNA

In the last three years Scott Bouchard and I have designed eight different shapes with Hyperlite. The designs we've come up with have helped create the idea for the Premier series and the Parks series, plus boards from some of the other guys. We know what works, and we're always trying to come up with the freshest ideas.

I didn't want to change my shape for this year because my line of boards does everything I was looking for. My board gets so much traction from the deep molded-in outer fins, cupped rails, and the two-tier rail. A Byerly board has a lot of grip, but it still releases quickly off the wake because the center fin is only 1.2" deep. My pro model still has the "Byerly pop", explosive, abrupt, whatever you want to call it - it suits my style. It also lands a lot softer with the center beam in the middle.

The series that changed the look of modern wakeboards from the rider you would expect it from. The Byerly series is a classic feel of an abrupt snap off the wake to a controlled tight feel on the water. Scott continues to bring an innovative vision to wakeboarding on the water and in the shaping room.

2.7" 3-Stage Rocker - a bucking pop off the wake for an explosive wake to wake style.

Two Tier Rail - the board doesn't sit quite as deep on the water as a step down rail but has just as much edge hold.

Deep Center Beam - super smooth landings even with a 3-stage kick.

Two 1.2" P-Wing Machined Aluminum Fins - designed for a quick release and a moderate feel.

Four 1.0" Deep Molded-In Fins - Hyperlite's thinnest and deepest molded-in fins for a knees bent style of riding that relies more on the outer fin.

Deep Cupped Rails - a more responsive grip into a rail-ride turn.

Vented Channels - less friction on the water when on rail for a faster feel.

Jib Base - a stronger material with a more controlled feel for riders looking to get their jib on.

Butch Innovation - Scott Bouchard and Byerly continue to push the limits of progressive wakeboard shapes.

This board rocks... ive only riddin it 15 times or so... every time i get out on it i like it more and more... its super fast and is really light... spinning and inverts are no problem at all

The only boards I have ever purchased have had the Byerly name tagged onto them. Ever since the days of the Wake Tech Flight 69 with Byerly and Gator pioneering the twin tip, all the way to Hyperlites work with "the man" on what I have to consider the best ride I have had. The over-all solid feeling of this board only allows you to ride with a more fluid, relaxed feeling, putting some "flow" into your sessions. Extreme pop with solid landings give you the chance to try those inverts that you would question on less stable boards. A perfect 10!

This board rides very well. I rated the speed of the board the way I like a board to be, and I prefer it to be a little slow. The byerly tracks a little more than I’m used to when ridden finelss, but I still think it’s a great board and the weight of it was incrediblly light. It had a good bucking pop to it and overall would be a great board for anyone.

Awesome board. Smooth landing and great pop. This board sends you straight up. I take the fins off in smooth water and it still locks down when you want it to.

I really like the soft landing this board gives you. Also it is easy to control and less "hard" than the parks 138 dna.

I went from an old Obrien double ender to this and I wish I had sooner. This board has huge pop off the wake, I love the way it tracks while cutting and the landings are smooth no matter where you land. I love it!

I love this board, it is alot of fun to ride. Great pop awesome for a bigger person. If you like this board, try the premier 140. Match up with the parks bindings for a sick combo!

This board rips. Got killer pop. Ride it finless (faster) and it’s so frickin’ fun. Way loose when you want it to be (helps on recovery) and grips great (like it’s on rails) when you need it too. DNA is so lively and light too. Belmont bindings and this board are a kill mix. |,,|_ TROOPS _|,,|

I ithnk this is by far the best board ever made. EVER. It is just amazing, i really like it. SO everyone go out and by a byerly. so keep wakeboarding and dont eat any fish.
