2003 Hyperlite Belmont 136
The pursuit of a fast yet smooth, mellow, and forgiving ride. For the last seven years I've been designing boards with Hyperlite with these thoughts in mind.
I prefer a board with a simple bottom design, because I feel this makes it glide more on the water. This design lets the work of the fins and the skill of the rider make the difference on my freeride shape. Over the years I have tried all types of rocker lines, and for this year I have the truest rocker for the freeride feel. I know exactly how my board is going to release for big tricks out into the flats and technical wake-to-wake moves.
Catch you on the Backyard Tour,
The name Belmont is synonymous with innovative mellow trasitioned turns and a smooth snap every time. Hyperlite's most evolved freeride shape varies in style depending on the fin set up. The Belmont is the cornerstone of our high-end shapes.Continuous Rocker - a smooth, reliable, fast transition up the wake every time. Full-Length Subtle Step Down Rail - a moderate rail, makes the board sit slightly lower on the water, and also supplies a little more grip throughout the edge. "V" Bottom Full-Length Tunnel - aids tracking and helps break up the water on landings. Wide Tip/Tail Profile - rolls over smooth. Stands up higher through the wake. Two 1.1" A-Wing Machined Aluminum Center Fins - provide the general grip for the board with a quicker release. Four .7" A-Wing Machined Aluminum Outer Fins - these outer fins on each end help stomp landings more consistently and aid the overall traction. Proven Freeride Progression - Shaun has been evolving mellower feeling boards now for the last 7 seasons.

Smooth as advertised, however I wouldn’t call this board advanced. It tracks well has consistent, predictable pop and lands smooth.
A great board for a beginner/intermediate rider or anyone looking for consistency, regardless of skill level.

The board is great. I prefer it with the center fin removed for the best overall ride.

has a farly fast rocker line, u can accelerate into the wake really good, the pop is really consistant and smooth, biut it isnt as big as a three stage is, and landings are pretty smooth, the board is a lil hard to spin tho, and trip flips are harder to do on this board, cuz it doesnt have as much pop

Great board. Some people complain of poor edge hold. I have ridden this board on parks and it feels loose, I have highbacks and it’s the best set up I have ridden. Love the board, so fun.

It was a great overall board that suits my style.

This board has the smoothest launch and landing of any board I have Ridden. You can land every which way and sideways the board is that forgiving. And the launch doesn’t jerk you up like the Premier or the parks smooth all the way through the wake. My only beef is that it doesn’t turn as sharp as I would like but you just have to dig in a little harder. I love this board and you can ride it 4, 6, or 0 fins and have a blast.

Excellent board. Fins track when you want, release when you’d prefer to slip. Huge pop off the wake, and a cushy landing.
