2002 Hyperlite Belmont 136
A one-board quiver. Depending on the water conditions or the riders moodthat day, the boards personality can adapt by changing the finconfiguration. Shaun’s new shape is the next progression of freerideshapes with a mellower overall feel, but with additional traction & stability.
In the last 6 years I have designed 10 different pro models in all thedifferent size ranges. This time has given me the ability to betterunderstand the hydrodynamics of a dude on a board. I spent the betterpart of the 2001 off-season working on my new ride.
I had more fun designing this series than any other because I was thinkingof the total overall feel. I wanted to have a board that released when Iwanted it to, and tracked like a mutha’. When we added the deeper outsidefins and got rid of the molded-in fins the board started to pop off thewake like I never felt. We also moved the fins in .8" further from therail for a quicker release off the wake. I can ride my edge as hard as Iwant to and when its time to bust it loose, well there’s no problem there.I can’t wait to see everyone else’s version of my board, it’s very flattering.
Thanks to my brothers neighbor Rob for coming up with the graphics.

This is the BEST board on the market!(and I’ve ridden a fair share)...I totally recomend this board to anyone, it tracks really well with the 3 fins, but will break loose when you want it to for surface stuff! You have to check it out! If you liked the 2001 (or if you didnt) you will still love this board!!!

I bought this board for my birthday 2 weeks ago. First impression was great. I loved the graphics and the board is super light. This is my first board with more than one fin per end so I wasn’t sure how that would feel. I took it out for the first time on 4th of July weekend so the water was super rough. The board didn’t track real well in rough water but I haven’t found a board that does so that didn’t surprise me too much. This past weekend I took it out again and had some great water to ride. This board has lived up to every expectation so far. Tracks way better than I thought for only having a 1.1" fin. Edges and Carves great. Gets more pop than my old Blindside ever did. And my landings were all smooth except for one. Overall you should go and get this board.

This board does everything really well. It has so much pop and tracks sooo hard. Plus you can cut as hard as you can to the wake and get huge air and land way out in the flats and land soft. When it gets in some choppy waves it’s not as good, but when you get the early morning glass it’s by far the best ride.

This board is the first board I have ever owned. I’ve learned many different tricks and been able to land them all just because of the board. Some of the tricks i can’t do on my friends boards.

this board rocks, ive got some nice pop but ive had some hard landings.

suprised as hell was what i was. I’ve heard some good things about this board and boy were they wrong. i had the chance to ride one finally a week ago and was very disapointed in the performance. Felt heavy and loose under my feet. the speed was fairly good for a 6 fin board but that and landings were the only plus’s i could i find. i think i’ll just stick with my LF trip or blance.

It’s a great board but i personaly like the 2001 belmont with molded in fins better. The 2001 belmont is the same as the 2002 motive so check that out.

Board rides great. I thought it might be too big but I can hit anything on this stick. Spinning a blind 3 or an off 5, going big on a krypt or landing a KGB, this board does it all. It takes me to the podium and that’s where I wanna be.

nice smooth ride hope i can use it for a couple more years

I love the way the board rides on the flats and i love the landings from the wake-to-wake, but it is a little bit heavier on the spins, but overall i liked it

This board Kicks Ass!! i have a drifter ass well and ever since i purchased my Belmont i havent rode my drifter since

This is the first 6 fin board I have tried. I love how well the board tracks when you put it in on the rail and how easily it breaks loose when you want to try surface stuff. The pop is typical of other higher end boards - no better no worse. I’ve ridden boards with slightly softer landings, but this board definately does not punish you like an O’Brien Blunt or Hyperlite Drifter so it is OK.

This board, although not the greatest I’ve ever ridden, is pretty nice. The pop is insane and it’s long fins make for great tracking. I find it a little harder to engage the board in cuts because the fin placement isn’t close to the rails as with most six fin boards.

The best board ever!!! Kicks the premier’s and byerly’s ass. The board is awsom, it grips like you want and when you want it lose, well no problem there. A must buy for 2002.

The sweetest board that I have ever owned. Oncreased my pop off the wake by feet not inches.
