2002 Hyperlite Byerly 137
Some new innovation, and an even more explosive pop. Scott’s new seriescontinues to push the limits of rail riding shapes. Designed for riderslooking for the right amount of finesse on the water and bucking abilityoff the water. If only this board came stock with the Byerly style.
I have always tried to create my own sriders out there pull tricks that I invented, and a lot of boards havefeatures that Scott Bouchard and I thought up. From cupped rails,molded-in fins, 3-stage rocker, vented channels to step down rails, I havealways tried to push board designs. I have already come up with a coupleof different shapes with Hyperlite that had their own traits.
For this year we combined it all into one, and of course Bouchard and Iadded some new innovation. This new series has the feel of my rail rideshapes, but with a detachable center fin you can still get all the gripyou need. We went to a deeper and thinner profiled outer molded-in finand I think it just makes the board track purer. Hyperlite also reducedthe amount of sidecut by widening the tip/tail profile .25". The biggestdifference was we added a molded-in center beam. My boards have always hada solid snap off the wake, now they just land a lot softer because thebeam helps push the water away on landings.

Just bought this board yesterday and the first ride was outstanding. I’d been riding the 2001 Byerly and this board tracks much better and has even more pop off the wake. I also like the graphics and design of the board. The top is more squared off then last year’s model and this board really grabs the water on the landings. Definitely check it out if your looking for a new board!

I have ridden so many boards and until 2 weeks ago I was riding the Origin 134 Aloha and the 2001 Byerly. The edge control on the new Byerly is amazing and the pop is definitely something that has changed for the better. The biggest thing was landing in the flats was so nice. No more hard jarring of the knees. The other cool thing was that I took of the center fins and rode it finless and what a blast. Like being on a snowboard.

I haven’t ridden this new model, but i do own the 2001 byerly 137, and i think the quality of the graphics went way down. this new board is just plain ugly. email me and tell me what you think.

This is one of the best boards ever!!!

FUN BOARD, BUT IS A LITTLE SMALL FOR ME. THAT IS WHY I GAVE IT A 3 ON LANDING. IT WAS HARD ON MY KNEES ON THE LANDINGS IN THE FLATS. TRACKS GREAT AND WAS SWEET FOR BUTTER SLIDES. SPINS SO FAST RIGHT OFF THE WAKE IT IS EASY TO OVER SPIN. IT IS LOOSE IF YOU ARE NOT ON EDGE ON YOUR LANDING AND FORCES YOU TO HAVE YOUR GAME TIGHTS. MORE OF AN ADVANCED BOARD, DID I MENTION THAT IS POPS YOU STRAIGHT UP. GET THE 142 IF ARE 180 LBS LIKE ME.

too much traction with center fin 1.2, without still enough traction! u need bent knees and and good technic for inverted tricks, but once u are used to that board u will love it

This board is awesome! A+! Smoothest landings I’ve ever had. Demo’d some boards last summer, Byerly was by far the best! Great pop off the wake! This board is flippin’ awesome! Wow! U gotta try it, no joke. Demo it this summer. You’ll love it!

If you edge through the wake this boards bucks like crazy! Pops straight up and flat. Pop is a little uncontrollable at times, lands on a pillow, is fast for the most part. It rolls over fast. Tracks excellent but breaks free easily. It took me a while to get used to it, but I’m in love with it now.

Wow. I have a 2000 and 2001 byerly boards and I won’t touch them again after riding this board. The landing are smooth. The tracking is great. I love and everyone who that I know who has ridin it loves it. if the 2003 model is the same board...Get it.

I rode a lot of boards this summer before I decided on the Byerly. It was the first board I tried and it was by far the best. It has the best pop of any board I’ve ever riden and has super soft landings. I also landed my first 5 on this board. I highly recomend the Byerly 137.

This board tracks OK for a three fin board but is a bit slow. I would recommend before you buy this board to try a Liquid force balance.

dude this board is awsome the 1st time i rode it i had the fins on n i got scared bc it wasnt as good as the old byerly bord. but then when i took off the fins i thought it would b way lose n like slip out on raly cuts but it held like better then ne board i had rode w/ fins so just go get 1 bc its the best board i have ever rode

I think this board is the best board it has the spine in the middle for better landings and the molded in fins make it track better when carving out and appoaching the wake.

It seems all I heard about this board before I rode it was about how loose it is. I didn’t see that at all, it tracks like crazy, in fact almost too good, I wish it broke loose alittle easier. It spins about the same as any other board it’s size, great pop definitely, I don’t even know what an invert is...

i knew the second i heard byerly was coming out with a new design that it was the board i wanted, it pops like crazy, boots you straight up, it handles sliders good too (but that shouldnt really be a category cuz i could backside boardslide on a 2x4) but its easy to spin, i was pullin 540s no sweat, i had time after i was finishing my trick that i was still in the air, i dont do flips so you cant ask me that, and the landings were so nice, its like jumping on the couch, i liked the speed, its a bit slow and thats my style, everything about this board just makes me wanna smile, i just bought it, and i put the new parks bindings on it too, thats the coolest setup in the world

THis board tracks super, a little bit to much for me, coming off of the bad ass garden, i find this board tracks a little more than i liked at first but now after riding it several times, i’ve gotten use to it, i can not understand why any one would ride this board with the center fin,(unless you have really poor edging technique even then you shouldn’t you should just learn how to edge) I never even mounted the fin. The board has super pop and the v-channel does make the landings softer which is good cause your gonna get booted off the wake. This board makes you ride your edge the way you should ride.
