2001 Double Up Nelson Burning City
For 2001 I shaped three new boards that include features from every board ever created at DoubleUP. Along with some new features such as a Variable Edge Design, my new boards provide a huge pop, hold a strong edge, spin effortlessly and the landings are super soft. The rockers are continuous for smooth carves and the Tip and Tail design are a version of the "Diamond Tip" created by Collin for an easy and smooth release off the wake. Curved Flow Channels are included of course to help build that strong edge hold. My boards also have a Variable Edge Design, giving you both hard and soft edges where you need them. This design has a softer edge in the center of the board, rolls to a hard edge as the channels begin and then progresses to a cupped rail at the Tip and Tail. The top deck contours provide a Canted and Con-caved Foot-Bed for a quick edge response and a comfortable stance. I hope you enjoy the futuristic shapes and the ride of my new boards.

You need to use your leg strenth to keep the edge of the board from digging in on the landings

Ive been waiting for doubleup to do this board since I rode the second generation nelson. this is the fastest board edge to edge ive riden that is this wide. variable edge design is rad, easy to start that cut back at the wake but when you are edging up its solid. the diamond tail releases so nice. my only cringe is when I land, a bit rougher than the colin wright board. pop is a bit better than the colin though. so, its trade offs.

This is a great board. I took it out for the first time and it was awesome. It floats off the wake and lands effortlessly. Double Up makes great boards, but stay away from the Nelson Clamps - PAINFULL!!!
