Boat is amazing. Only reason people give it less than 4 is boat envy and they can't/don't want to shell out the cash. Wake is enormous and smooth, system can be heard by anyone within a mile. 400 HP is plenty with 10 people in the boat (very little ballast). Will fit 10-14 to go boarding. I don't know what people want but this is as close as it's gonna get!!

i love this boat. we are so fortunate to have one. i have been on Malibu's, supras, nautiques, you name it and i have never crossed a boat as good as the xstar. you just have to love it if you have one.and about the money, if you ask me it's worth every dime

FYI..... My ballast setup is on top of stokc ballast... FYII HAVE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER WITH A BOAT!!!I have ridden behind every boat out there and the X-Star woops up on them all!

After working at a malibu dealership and now a mastercraft I can honestly say the xstar is built better. Hate if you want. Ya malibu has a wedge and it works. Makes a clean wake and I love it. But why do you think the 2 major tours/events in the world are run by MC X-STARS. (PWT/XGAMES) I bet they do it cause it has a crappy wake right?? ha ya thats it. Just enjoy the boat you got and stop hating on a company thats inovating the sport.

Very small main area, can get crowded. Wakes lip is very rounded, not poppy unless you really weight the back. The problem with this boat is it doesn't have a wake plate it just has a plate on the back made from fiberglass. so you have to load the back down -consequently it sucks getting up to speed, and eats fuel because of it. Nice wake if you weight it the way and enough. Every little thing broke down for us - our boards bounced out of the boardracks from waves, ballast gauges broke, depth finder broke, seats rip at seams super easy. Wakesurfing wave is really mellow and not adjustable, that could be good or bad for you depending on preference. Super expensive when there are so many other boats out there just as good if not better and are cheaper.

every one who has commented above obviously is jealous they dont own this boat. they are all whining and complaining how expensive it is, when in reality every boat is ridiculously expensive. just dont be a hater on mastercraft because you own a lower quality boat. ye

the spec. say 3000 lbs on ballast. don't know the arrangment. for what this thing cost it sucks! the wake is way to melow without adding weight to the back had problems with pump,stero & engine. whats next. mastercraft is living of their name.

this is one of the worst boats mc has ever produced IMO. it handles like a tank. no power what so ever wake was marginal. cost is insane. campare to a cc or tige this thing is falls way short!!! a tige stock no ballast what so ever made a better wake when i added same weight to tige the tige wake was way better and adjustable using t.a.p.s. yeah the mc had a little more bling but it also cost 10-15000 more dollars. sorry to say mc just aint got what it takes anymore they are living off there name alone because there new boats just dont keep up with the competion.

I own a Mobius LSV and was really pumped to get to ride an X-star, but was so bummed. They took a legend and turned it into a glamm rock deck boat. I started to ride at 70 and there was no lip or pop to the wake at all. Moved back to 75 then 80 and still hated the wake. This thing is just a family cruiser now, unless you dump 2000lbs of fat sacks in, but I can do that to an old tri-star and get a decent wake. Why pay $85000 and have to load up fat sacks just to be able to ride. This thing sucks!

this boat is not all what it is caught up to be. the riders have to rely on the ballast to create a decent wake. this boat is not very roomy either. this boat is deffinatly not worth over 100 grand.

I've had the boat for two months and I've put almost 70hrs on it. All my expierienced wakeboarder friends love everything about the boat including the wake, the power,the fit and finish,not to mention the awesome looks. The boat is very pricey but in this case you get what you pay for.

I love my new xstar! I love the wake and I love the fact I don't have one fat sac out in the open. Everything is under the seats, and I still have alot of storage. The boat does take alittle time to get to plane, but what boat doesn't with 3900lbs of ballast! You don't need to run that much, 2000lbs will give you a really nice wake to. I'll always own a MC, but thats mainly because i have a great dealer.

I just bought a new 07 x star and it is the most badass boat ever... Its the best looking boat i have ever seen...i have not had 1 problem with the boat yet and ive had it for 6 months...the wake is monsterous. it could eat the wake of other boats...The system is also pretty bumping...If ur looking for a new wakeboarding boat...there is no question

I test drove this boat recently, fully intending to leave the shop with it. I left totally blown away by the factory ballast setup for wakeboarding. With no additional weight in the boat, the wake was similar but not quite as large as my old Pro-star 250 with about 750 lbs of water and 6 people in the boat. Once we added 1200 lbs of water ballast to the rear tanks as well as filled up the factory ballast, the wakeboarding wake was insane! However, the right starboard side surfing wake never cleaned up. We currently ride an 'o1 X-10, and the surfing wake is incredible. We can ride both sides of the wake without turning the boat, shifting weight or doing anything other than driving in a straight line. The sales rep said that we either needed to drive in a circle or load the right side with an additional 1000 lbs of ballast. We are still looking for the perfect MasterCraft.

i just bought a 07 x-star and it is the sikkest boat i have ever seen and been on, it puts out the fattest wake and it is so crisp. the sound system bumps too! the only problem we ran into was when a friend fell while wakeboarding i turned around t get him and the bolt on the rudder push/pull shaft somehow unscrewed itself and turn all the way to the left which made me do circles and run over the line and get it cought in the prop shaft, we eventually got that fixed after a half hour of diving under the boat, and then we got back to the dock and locked the glove box but then had to unlock it and the lock came out! so we had no way of getting into the glove box. those r the only problems, the rudder thing was an assembly problem, but the lock was a manufacturer problem, other then that this is the sikkest wakeboard boat anyone could ever have, and if you get one, be sure to go with the big block 8.1 liter, that 525 ft-lbs of torque really helps
