After 3 years we still liked our 07 Tige 20V. We have only 1 dissapointment with the boat and it has to do with the vinyl. In various areas of the seating the vinyl was no longer stretched tight across the cushions and the foam along the seat edges has lost its resilency. No tears in vinyl or seam issues and my local shop has fixed loose vinyl but is sort of dissapointing. Other than that the boat has been great. We are primarily skiers with grandchildren that are just starting to wakeboard. We did not add ballast to boat but for the youngsters the out of box wake with Taps was fine. We have sold boat and we were happy at re-sale price in today's market. Of course selling a low hours boat that looks like new after restretching vinyl helped a tad.
family is a ski familu with hydrofoiling for days where there is no calm water.TAPs works as advertised and we can get a decent wake for a 20ft V hull inboard. With 15-20 off recreational slalom runs are great for recreational and semi advanced slalom runs. Wit optional speed set amd the standard tracking fins the boat tracks true even with agressive cuts. For Beginner wake boarders and intermediate boarders the stock boay without bsllsdt is okay to learn on and get some air but a ballast system is needed as the boarders umprovre. As they get better a set of fat sacks or a built in would be advised. With some human or in my case 450 lbs of lab.Tunes are good with 6 speaker Kicker system on 2007 with woofer and by upgrasing to Wet Sounds Speakers on Tower with 550w amp for tower of power capability is great especialy when you add a WS-420 Fader/Equa;izer.Bottom line is the Tige TAPS system and Convex V hull handle well and a decent ride in rough water can be had. Only change from stock would to be to not use Tige E series tower but go with an quality aftermarket tower like the Samsom Sports Razor Tower which is more expensive but if you have to raise and lower the tower each weekend when getting the boat out of the garage or wherever the Razor is very easy to collapse with 1 person. Depending on how many speakers and lights you hang on the tower it might require help getting it raised due to the weight.A question that is a sure sign if someone would buy another Tige is a key question. I would answer it with a resonding yes. Do I have nits with the boat and the answer is yes. But this is true for any boat. The performance, handling and over all comfort is great. Our years on the water have gone from ski all day when on vacation has changed. My daughters are older now and I have an artificial knee that so far has limited me from skiing. I am hoping that with a better weather summer that I can try behind by Tike 20V. It will have plenty of power to get me up.Dollar for Dollar it is a great value and for me the 20V gives you a sports car feel in a boat. it is a blast finding open water on one of the local resevoir lakes and just drive for the pleasure of it. When I do this it is usually me and maybe one of my labs who tucks herself under myy feet.
For a 20ft v-drive the handling is fantastic. It tracks well and turns on a dime. We are primarily skiers because of generation and that we flat out enjoy recreational slalom runs. With 600 lbs ballast in the rear we get a nice wake for our boarding fans. We like the lip it gives us when we are hydro foiling. If you have a size restriction in the 20 foot class the 20V performs well and is a blast to drive. I don't mind plastic cup holders since you can upgrade in expensively to stainless. The dashes mix of analog tachometer and speedometer make for a great looking dash with some digital features for Speed Set, Water and Air temp and TAPS plate. I prefer this layout to the new fad of all digital instrumentation. We do have a couple of negatives that may or may not influence you. There are no provisions for grab bars in the cockpit area so with young kids aboard quick turns and fast starts have to be limited. The optional e-series tower is adequate one put up but getting it there takes two if you have a Bimini top. The standard Bimini is in the do-able category with me after you have put it up and taken it down a few times. Why no cup holder for drover is perplexing I solved my issue with an aftermarket holder I found on Ebay and I used the suction cups to put it up in 2007 season and winding down 2009 it still is in the same place I put it. It has never fallen down even when I leave bottled water in it.Handling, ride and storage are great in this 20 foot v-drive. Factory sound system in 2008 and newer are great systems using Wet Sound speakers and amps. Although not cheap, you get a lot of value and fun from this boat. If I was buying it from the factory and not a showroom model, I would use the Samson Sports Razor tower versus the stock e-series Tige tower. All in all I will keep this boat for at least 10 years. Like my previous boat the Tige 20V is a nice all around 20 footer that performs well and is flat out fun to drive.
This boat is great for wakeboarding and skating. It packs a sizable wake, handles well and only has a few disappointments. The interior is very soft and smooth, but it lacks a few things such as stainless steel cupholders, or a cupholder for the driver at all and much, if any deck storage. The hard, non built-in ballast tanks make ski and board storage hard. The biggest disappointment I have with the boat is the ski wake; by 'Versatility' they must only be talking about recreational activities at long line - the rooster tails, hull bump, and prop bump extend to where 22' off or shorter burn you in spray and bump. In fairness, we do have the extra weight of the dual battery system.
We love it, I have rode in every wake boat out there and nothing macthes the 20V.
