Just bought a mint 2007 Sanger V215, haven't had a chance to try it out yet (I live in western Canada), however from all the reviews I've read and talking with individuals who know about Sangers boats - nothing but positive results... I have a question though and hopefully someone can address my concerns. I don't have a boat lift at my cabin and waves can reach 3' - would you leave the V215 tied up to an anchor?
I have an '08 model with the black scorpion engine. It is very well designed with lots of storage. Performance and handling is outstanding. I too have had problems taking water over the front but I learned to deal with it easily and haven't had a problem since. Love the low sleek lines compared to other wakeboard boats. That was one of the main reasons I bought a Sanger. Usually have the boat loaded with 10 to 12 people and it works great.Only problem I have had was with the service on the boat. The initial training when I picked up the boat was generally poor. Much of the info I needed was not offered so I ended up learning it myself. Luckily I have had very few issues with the boat but the ones I have had have been irritating. I would not recommend NorTex Marine in Dallas. Unfortunately they are the only Sanger dealer in Dallas so I am stuck with them. I usually need to talk directly with the kind folks at Sanger to get any action.
I think the other reviews sum it up well. I own the 2007 model and the handling is what sold me on this boat. The wake is equal to anything else out there. I have the 1500lbs of ballast and the 330 h.p. engine pulls anyone up in half a second. I recommend the perfect pass too, it's worth it's weight in gold. However, I will agree that the sole negative is that the bow sits very low in the water. Keep your speed up to cross wakes and keep an eye out for rogue waves. I've taken waves more than once over the bow. The first day I had it out I fill it with about 6 inches of water and blew an amp and 2 speakers, but that was my fault. The water did come up over the bimini and windshield! Regardless, keep an open eye, stay vigilant and be cautious with who you let drive it because they are bound to take a wave sooner or later. As for the handling, lets just say 'WOW', I've blown coke cans in the cooler from the 'G's I've pulled. Compared to my buddies Centurion and another friends Malibu, I have a boat about $20K less that is just as good as anything their or anything else out there throwing a wake!
I own the 2007 and love it. I have over a hundred hours on it in 6 months. The way this boat breaks down for storage in my garage is great. I have the factory ballast and have added 2 250's and one 500 sac and it throws a mean wake loaded. The only cons I have to say regarding this boat: The dealer was unable to service it properly. I had an exhaust leak that they fixed and they messed up my throttle adjustments. They never did fix it and had to go to another dealer. That is why I rate this boat a 4 because of the poor service I received.
2007 V-215..330HP Black scorpion. SS billet, Wake series. Not just because I own this boat but because it is the best boat on the water bar none....After countless years of settling with lower quality boats (Names with held for non-bashing rule) I am so happy I will never go back to another boat. This boat handles like a direct drive and has the comfort and space of a much larger boat. The fit and finish is top notch and the attention to detail is phenominal....After just one day on the water with one of my most hardest to pleas friends he quietly told me that night at the dock he had just ridden in the best wakeboard boat ever.........Not easy for a man to say that owns a boat he just paid 80,000 dollars for......Get a Sanger and you will never go back...Buy it without the bimini and order one through tower biminis .com
I absolutely love my boat in every regard. I couldn't be more happy with the product I bought especially for the price. When you ride in one of these the ride quality is top notch whether in chop or butter. This boat literally out hadles my previous boat which is a DD. The build quality and fit and finsh is just phenominal and on par or better than many of the more expensive brands. The wake is very Rampy and clean all the while not being sensitive to wheight. If you're after a great wake boat with plenty of room for the whole crew this is it at an excellent price.
I own the 2007 model and purchased it in August 06. I have 120 hours on it so I have put it through its paces. I am not just giving this boat 5's in all areas because I own this boat. I am giving it a true rating in all these areas from my impressions and my personal experiences with this boat. I have the Black Scorp motor and the power to weight ratio is meaty, the handling is on rails, storage and comfort is abondent, the wake is steep and tall, the value is second to none for a boat of this quality so the overall speaks for its self. I would be better off telling you the minor things I would be aware of when buying this boat. 1. The bow sits low so when crossing your own or others wake at less than 5mph will put water over the bow. Hell, I had a wake come up and over the windshield 1 time. Keep the bow up. 10mph atleast when crossing on coming wakes. 2. The stock bimini sits too low. Order without if you can and go to Towerbiminis.com and have them build you a bimini that does not have straps on it and mounts higher up on the tower so you dont have to duct down to walk under it. 3. if you get a paint sceme that has graphics like I did (Elispe) the sticker sits right under the over flow for the gas tank on the port side. When you over fill your tank and take a nice long drive on a windy road to the lake on a hot day, the gas coming out of the over flow right onto the vinyl sticker in the hot sun causes the sticker to melt and peal up. That is all the negative I have to say. FYI, if you are a new boater or are questioning paying the extra dollars on the perfect pass and the tripple balast, do it. I am glad I did. I am very happy with this boat and would have had to pay 20k more to get a boat even close as good as this boat.
every bit of boat for the dollar. great ride in rough water and the wake is perfect for everyone i ride with. plenty of room, we are comfy all day.

The first Rear engine boat that I thought handled like a mid-engine can. As a driver it was impressive. Not too noisy for my wife and small kids and the rest behind the drivers seat was quite comfortable. The kids never got sprayed in the bow.
