2006 Mastercraft X-30
The most interesting thing about the all-new X-30 may be the one thing it doesnt have: a SuperFly front. Thats just fine for most, because what really matters happens behind the windshield. There, drivers are treated to a sculpted billet dash arrangement while passengers have more interior room to stretch out than in any competitive 23-footer. Further back lies a sunpad just a bit smaller than Rhode Island and beyond that, paradise a mobile liquid playground for surfboards, wakeskates or a wakeboard. Tucked under the floor is 700 pounds of ballast capacity, leaving room for all your gear to be put right were it needs to be out of the way so you can kick back or kick some wake. Now isnt that the point?

I thought Malibu was all that and a bag of chips. I couldn't figure why anyone would ride anything else. This boat makes the Malibu feel like a Fisher Price. Lots of storage, lots of seating, versatile wake (big enough to surf, shaped well for wakeboarding, flattens out for slalom skiing), lots of power, high-quality finish, and killer looks. We haven't had any problems with the handling (as others have cited), but my boat has hydraulic-assisted steering. That may make all the difference?I like that this boat sits a little higher than the other tow boats. It handles the big water better, it makes the interior more comfortable (higher seats, higher walls), it adds more storage, and it looks better proportioned.Couldn't be happier!

Handling is something to be desired, but to be expected with a boat of this size. MONSTER wake with ballast system full. Still nice ski boat with a couple of people inside and trim tab down. Have 100 hrs on mine and no reliability issues. Awesome for surfing, with tons of room for tons of people. Cruise is hit miss depending on weight distribution and how much weight, it can really fluctuate 2-3 mph each way. EXPENSIVE, but worth the money. Beginer drivers are always swamping the bow when I'm in the water. Cudos to MC - Storage galore!!!! I have everything tucked away in the boat that I ever need or want on the lake and still room for everyone elses stuff that always ends up coming along for the ride.

OK, Coming from an 01 x10 there is no comparison. The wake is HUGE. Way more vert than the X10. I;ve actually hhad some trouble in the less than 2 months of use that we've owned this boat because I've gone SO MUCH HIGHER than ever on the X10. Even at 75 feet you have trouble NOT landing in the flats due to so much air time. I've really started pushing alot less to try to get less verticle air. Turning was really slow, but we got a redesigned rudder thats supposed to help. Let you know in a couple months when the lakes thaw if it helps. The MS cruise was great for skiing but sucked if more than 2 peeps in the the boat for WB. The new PP was way better. This boat is SO ROOMY!! Way more comfy for a bunch of peeps hanging out for the day than the x10 OR the Xstar. Its cavernous! More to come....

Great boat. Incredible quality everywhere. MC has really done a nice job with this boat. Handling is not great, but it is a big boat. Amazing room for a lot of people and their gear.

I don't own it; I just test drove but am seriously considering buying one. MC has thought of so many cool things for this boat: the bimini has great coverage and easy to put up/down, the swivel boardracks are awesome, the boat is huge and I think will comfortably fit 14, the bow is huge, the driver seat is very comfortable, very little bow rise compared to other boats, tower is much higher than the illusion, great trailer w/ easy loading. Not sure about the wake b/c the conditions were bad when we test drove but seemed good w/ nice ramp. The steering, however, was awful! MC has an option for hydraulic steering---looking into it.

The ballast setup is port, starboard and central.Great handling, loads of room and a wake you can sculpt in various ways. Comfortable for 8 to 10 people if you want.

The handling is very bad because when you turned the boat it would slide then turn. The storage was great. If you are looking for good storage, then i would recommend it.

The boat has all the great features the competition has, and non of there flaws. there is just 2 problems. the tower still catches my forehead. and with the biminy up you have to duck. the other problem is the massive price tag... its expencive with the 8.1 engine but that is what you must get or you have a major lack of power. other than that it is the best looking boat out there. the price will still force me to get a LSV though...
