MB's 2005 B52 V3 is a next generation wakeboard boat, with the world's first two-speed transmission. A driver-controlled shift-tronic 28-Split transmission can shift seamlessly on the fly, allowing for low-end torque to pull out of the hole and a normal running gear for riding speeds and higher. Not only can riders load up additional ballast, fuel consumption and low speed, maneuverability will significantly increase. Most of the wakeboarders we know load up as much ballast as they can, and this boat lets them do that. You manually switch between low and high gear with a rocker switch located on the throttle knob.

The driver may upshift and downshift whenever necessary. For example, use the low gear when weighted with ballast to get out of the hole and on plane at typical wakeboard speeds. Then shift to the high gear to continue the pull. When the rider is done or falls, ease the throttle back normally, idle around to pick the rider up, downshift to the low gear, and repeat the process. The system works seamlessly with Perfect Pass Wakeboard Cruise. No modification is needed.

The B52 is best described through its custom painted visual representation, having both "Tribal" and "HOT ROD" flame graphics for 2005. Our designers teamed up to give the '05 B52 models a complete aesthetic makeover, with matching upholstery for both graphic designs to give the B52 a new look.

There is also the front ballast tank dubbed the "Triple-Up" 3-stage internal ballast system. Our design technician tooled the new tank system into the bow to evenly distribute the ballast weight bow-to-stern. The Triple Up system adds 500 pounds to the bow area, giving the boat more than 2,100 pounds of below-deck water ballast, double the weight of any other stock ballast system available. There are three independent and reversible pumps controlled by rocker switches in the driver console making it simple to fill or drain any single tank or all three simultaneously.
