2005 MB Sports B52 V
At MB Sports, our purpose is to provide the best possible boat performance solution for wakeboarders worldwide, and the 2005 B52 V represents the ultimate in wakeboard boat design. An in-depth understanding of rider movements and progressive designs make our boats the catalyst for evolution, whether you are a competition wakeboarder, wake skater, or landlocked surfer.
The gel coat and upholstery combination for '05 is completely custom made. All of the original graphics are created in the mold; sprayed into the gel coat so they won't fade, crack or peel. We designed and hand-shaped the new hull for the B52 V with one goal in mind: Bigger Wakes. With the V hull we wanted more power and PCM delivered. The B52 V comes standard with a monstrous PCM Excalibur 330 HP engine bolted to a 1.57:1 Hurth V transmission, which translates to a lot more torque. You'll go from cruising to wide-open in less time than it takes to think about it.
The driver console is Command Central, too. Flip the ballast switches and add up to 1,600 pounds of pure water ballast to shape your wake however you want it. Boards are stored on a Skylon tower with billet board racks, a standard feature on all B52 models. Music control is close at hand with the soft-touch Clarion Marine CD console. Passenger and gear space is unequaled, too, thanks to the arena seating design and rear trunk storage. The B52 V storage trunks are easily double the size found on the Mastercraft X-Star or the Super Air Nautique.
MB Sports follows no one, and neither should you. The custom built B52 V is the wakeboard boat of choice at more top schools throughout the U.S. and overseas, and now it can be yours.

This boat is the best purchase I have ever made! I bought my 2005 MB B52V in early 2007, (used) with 35 hours on it after reading the reviews here on all the boats, and I have not been disappointed. The wakes are perfect, the PCM Excalibur runs smooth with no hiccups and is easy to maintain, the interior (vinyl) is extremely durable, and the craftsmanship and design is amazing. The boat cover is easy to install and remove, and again, extremely durable. I too found stress cracks on the boat about 6 months after buying the boat, and once I was able to get good pics to the manufacturer, they agreed to repair the boat immediately. When I arrived, Mike Brendel himself greeted me, along with Jason Nere, (a fiberglass God in my book) who took the reigns and made it happen despite all odds. Jason gave me a tour of the facilities, where I witnessed pristine custom hand craftsmanship on these amazing boats happen. After meeting some of the employees, they immediately started work on any and all warranty covered items on my boat that needed repaired (mostly small stuff like some vinyl tears). When it came to the repairs on my boat hull, I was extremely impressed with Jason's attention to detail and demand for perfection on the craftsmanship...they even thickened the bow of the boat so it could take a wake for double ups with no further cracking issues. The cracks on my boat were in the starboard bow, just below the water line, right in the middle of the custom gel coat flames, and after getting the boat off the trailer, they found more that I would have never found right where the boat sits on the rails for the trailer. Jason and his guys did such an excellent job, that you can't tell that any work has been done to my boat at all. Jason also discovered that the trailer design was partially to blame (the brackets supporting the front roller were too high, and needed to be trimmed down), and had the trailer modified for me as well, which cost me a small fee because the trailer manufacturer(DHM)didn't want to make it right for a multitude of excuses. Other than this issue with the trailer, I think it's one of the best trailers I've ever had, and was a little disappointed the DHM didn't stand behind their product better. Mike Brendel will do well to keep Jason Nere close at hand for any future designs of his boats because Jason is obviously a subject matter expert who cares about the customers, when it comes to these boats. On a side note, Jason is also responsible for some sick marine stereo equipment and tower speakers perfect for these boats, which can be included on the order for the newer MB boats, but wasn't even an option on the older boats like mine, so if you're like me, and want to get a set of this bad boys for your older MB look him up at TidalAudio.com...you won't be disappointed...if you want pics of my boat to see the work, or have any questions, just send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is a nice looking boat. Drives great, and some great ideas for the boat, for its time. I did have issuse with the hull having stress cracks which I hear is common. Had some issues with manufacture taking responsibility and taking care of it but overall a nice boat.
The two speed tranny is a must have!
This boat is exactly what I wanted when I went looking to buy. Top notch construction, plush,Quick, ton of storage.Billet everywhere and a ton of ballast at the flick of a switch. Very happy.
