2005 Malibu iRide
Why settle for cheap when you can have true value and excitement in the new iRide from Malibu Boats. The inboard version of the Ride Series comes with the performance and quality boaters have come to expect in a Malibu at a price reserved for cheaper wannabes. The iRide is the first performance entry class boat with standard Multi-Port Fuel Injection, proven quality construction and World Class wake characteristics. Add the standard center ballast, Titan Series III tower and optional Wedge and the iRide becomes the only sensible choice in the entry performance class.

Great Boat. Owned it for 2 years now. We Slalom, Wakeboard, Sky Ski Barefoot Wake Surf and wake Skate behing it and it is great at all of them. With the Wedge down, the center tank full and just 250 pounds extra in the rear locker the wake rocks. Slalom above 32 empty is acceptable to even some of my tournament skier friends and it has a nice smooth table for barefooting.I have not had any mechanical problems that have kept us from Skiing or riding, but lots of annoying little stuff. Examples are radio did not get reception when brand new, The Sony Speaker grills came craked and have been replaced 2 more time under warranty (Issue in the back where mounted to the vinyl) The rub rail cracked the first year (Behind swim platform, not impact related), the ballast drain pump died after the last run last fall, and the cover stitching started to come undone after the first season. My dealer has been great about making everything right and I love the boat, but if I have as many problems this summer I might dump it after the warranty and move to an Nautique SV211

I dont wakesurf so cant rate it. But I heavilly weight the boat with 2 launch pad twins either side of engine, 2 full size fat sacs one rear locker and one lengthways down the walkway to the front as well as the midship ballast and wedge. The good thing is with all that weight you can still seat 8 people and walk past the engine. If we only have a few in the boat, we stick another side sac across the back seat. The wake is huge with a real boot up. While the VLX might be a but plusher, an advantage of the inboard is it picks up quicker and you dont loose seating with 4 big fat sacs in it. Other manufacturers inboards often feel like ski boats with towers, but Malibu have given it width and depth. I think on our lake at least we have proved you dont have to go V drive to get a sick ride and would highly recommend this boat to anyone
