2004 Mastercraft X-2
In 1995, MasterCrafts then director of marketing, John Dorton, specially equipped a ProStar 205 ski boat to tow wakeboarders at ESPNs X-Games. At the time, various ski boat manufacturers were experimenting on how to best setup a boat for wakeboarding to provide the largest possible wake for flipping and spinning. Wakeboarders raved about the boat and the X-Star was born.
In the years that followed, the X-Star became the choice of wakeboarders and the flagship for MasterCrafts X-Series brand of wakeboard boats. Just a fledgling sport in the early 1990s, wakeboarding has been popularized among the extreme sports culture and set the wakeboard boat building industry on fire. Today, the MasterCraft X-Star, now renamed the X-2, is the best selling wakeboard boat in history, and the X-Series brand includes 6 different models and accounts for approximately 60% of the companys business. The 2004 X-2 includes all of the latest innovations in wakeboarding in a proven package. The X-2s hull is shaped to provide thick, clean wakes with a crisp lip that makes any move makeable. Its also setup to increase the boats wake size with just the push of a button. The X-2s Triple KGB ballast system fills 3 tanks inside the boat to weight it with up to 1000 lbs of water. That makes it easy to adjust the wake size for beginners, intermediates and even professionals. The X-2 also comes standard with a Zero Flex Flyer tower. The tower gives riders a higher pulling point for launching off the wakes and dramatically increases their hang-time. The tower also provides a place for storing wakeboards and attaching additional speakers or lights. The X-2 is also great for taking out 11 of your closest friends for a board banging good time. At almost 21 feet in length, the X-2 is nimble enough for evasive maneuvers and large enough to seat everyone comfortably. With an open bow, wrap around seating amidship and a 3-piece sundeck, you can spread out and store your gear below deck. The X-2 also comes standard with a 310 hp GM Vortec V-8 engine to ensure that performance and power are always in excess. Every MasterCraft X-Series boat also comes with an excess of style. The 2004 X-2 has been enhanced with new hull graphics, new clamping board racks, a new midnight black dash console, armrest and glove box, new white gauge faces with chrome bezels, an improved tachometer LCD display, and a new restyled gray-based interior with perforated vinyl leg rolls and accents. The tower speakers and fog lights have also been restyled for 2004 with a new bullet shape. |
