2004 Malibu Wakesetter
The Wakesetter rivals the styling and performance of other members of the series, but is designed to satisfy the new entry market. With precision, direct-drive handling, the Wakesetter is a sporty machine built to Malibu's exacting standards. Options for 2004 including launch seats, MLS and the Wedge, enable you to customize your Wakesetter to enhance your personal creed for exhilaration. At a price that screams value, the Wakesetter is the clear choice for boarders eager to invest in their dreams. The 2004 Wakesetter is designed to match the demands of professional wakeboard performance and the budget of discriminating buyers. The power of the Malibu 310 Vortec standard engine directs the Wakesetter, which shares the same SV23 pro wake making hull as the Wakesetter VLX. The combination enables riders to unleash a steady stream of sick slides and big air tricks.

This has been an awesome boat. The direct drive does not offer quite the room of a v-drive but overall a great value for your money....has a good ski wake(the positive side of the direct drive) and when you fill the ballast and drop the wedge, the wake is great for wakeboarding. Bought it with under 40 hrs and now have 480...not one problem other than normal maintenance. There is only one minor flaw in design, the back seats will flip forward if you step on the front of the seat vs the back, which you learn to be careful about...BUT, other than that, an unbelievably fantastic family boat that has been truly awesome for our family of 6....produced two National Champions in the entro division from INT Wakeboarding League.Would highly recommend this boat unless you are advanced wakeboarders (vdrive) or are big time surfers.(no built in back ballast).

Great Boat for the value. Has a nice wake but not massive like most vdrives. It has a solid lip. I can get plenty of air to do many arials. Great Entry level boat. Highly recomend this boat
Boat is too small and if there is anymore than 3 or 4 guys it is uncomfortable

I purchased this boat and used it 3 time and sent it back what a turd of a boat. I don't understand how Malibu can get good write ups in articles and continue to have problem after problem. Now I will spend a little more money for a quality boat.
