Sharing is the theme behind this one-of-a-kind wakesurfing event
San Diego, CA – The first wakesurfing event of the year is coming to Lake Elsinore and San Diego the weekend of February 22-23. Synthetic Swell is a demo day/festival/shred session that will kick off the season in the glorious weather of southern California.
Enjoy two days of wakesurfing and boating with others that share your passion for shredding a big wave behind the boat. The event will be broken into two venues with the first day, Saturday, February 22, focusing on the fresh waters of Lake Elsinore and the second day, Sunday, February 23, taking place on the ocean waters of Mission Bay in San Diego.
You and your crew can bring your boat and/or try out the wakesurfing experience behind other boat models. If you don’t have a boat, no problem! There will be plenty of sessions available for everyone. You don’t even need a board or wetsuit if you don’t have one because those will be provided as well. The idea is to share boats and boards so that everybody can try out whatever setup they’re interested in.
Synthetic Swell is not a money-making venture. The organizers are putting this together at their own expense and volunteers are bringing their boats and boards in at their own expense. There is no charge for anything, although a $25 donation for gas money to your boat driver is encouraged. If you’d like to surf for free (and guilt-free), WakeWorld is sponsoring 10 surf sessions by covering the $25 gas money donation for 10 lucky surfers. All you have to do to get entered is send an email to SyntheticSwell@WakeWorld.com and we’ll announce the winners on WakeWorld.com and SynSwell.com before the event.
In between the surfing fun will be games and contests and plenty of giveaways. There will be BBQ lunches both days and BBQ dinners both nights. The event will culminate with an awards ceremony following Sunday’s dinner BBQ.
If you want to participate by bringing your boat or you just want to show up to surf, go to SynSwell.com to get registered and get all the details. Space is limited, so don’t delay. Synthetic Swell is sponsored by WakeWorld, Paradise Watersports, M20 Marine, Liquid Force, Wakesports, Pacific Coast Marine, Shaper Studio, Soulcraft, Walker Project, Evercarve, Agenda Surf and more.
