New York, N.Y. — TransWorld WAKEBOARDING announced today the promotion of Shawn Perry to editor-in-chief of the sport’s leading print publication. Perry, who previously served as the publication’s senior editor, brings a wealth of industry knowledge and editorial experience to the magazine.
“Shawn has lived and breathed the wakeboarding lifestyle for more than a decade,” said Rhonda Mock, TransWorld WAKEBOARDING’S publisher. “His passion for the sport, coupled with his editorial background, makes him the ideal editor-in-chief for TransWorld WAKEBOARDING, and I have no doubt the magazine will flourish under his leadership.”
During Perry’s tenure at TransWorld WAKEBOARDING, the magazine has reached new heights, including increased readership and the development of content-rich social channels on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
“I couldn’t be more excited about taking over the editor-in-chief position at TransWorld WAKEBOARDING,” said Perry. “In addition to putting out the monthly magazine, we will be providing our readers with the most in-depth wakeboarding content, ranging from athlete interviews to inspiring photos, through a variety of channels including our website, Facebook and YouTube.”
Perry joined Bonnier in 2010 following a five-year stint with the World Wakeboard Association, where he served as executive director. Previously, he was organizing and developing world-class events to help further the sport around the globe. In his spare time, Perry enjoys playing ice hockey, riding his bicycle and dancing.
Perry succeeds Luke Woodling, who has moved to another position within Bonnier.
