Charleston, SC-The Tri-County Marine Trade Association, hosts of the 34thannual Charleston Boat Show, will be launching a new spring event in partnership with long-time boat show producer, JBM & Associates.
The In-Water Charleston Boat Show will be held at the Bristol Marina, with additional displays and features at the BrittlebankPark on April 25-27, 2014. This new annual event will give boat dealers an opportunity to highlight and sell boats of all sizes, as well as showcase the latest trends in marine related products and services.
The City of Charleston, the management of the Bristol Marina, and the leading boat dealers in the region have worked together to create a long-term home that will provide the show with longevity and consistency and enable the show to become a regional event like the Ft. Lauderdale and Annapolis shows.
“We are excited to the see the return of the most important maritime event under the management of Jacqui Bomar and her great team. The venue is one of the best on the eastern seaboard for an In-Water Boat Show, with BrittlebankPark and many hotels nearby, it will help grow the local boating economy while providing great entertainment for Charleston boating enthusiasts and visitors alike,” said Robbie Freeman, Managing Partner of the Bristol Marina.

“The Charleston region continues to experience steady growth of affluent people of all ages because of the quality of life the area offers, which includes boating. We consistently have clients who attend the Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Annapolis boat shows to make buying decisions. There is an opportunity to create a regional show to keep those people here and draw more to the area. With the economy continuing to improve and the success of the winter show we feel now is the time to make that opportunity a reality,” said Tri-County Marine Trade Association President and owner of Barrier Island Marine, Scott Chapman.
The winter Charleston Boat Show will be held January 24-26, 2014, at the Charleston Area Convention Center. “We have noticed a surge in demand for exhibitor space. We are completely sold out of the Convention Center exhibit hall and the allotted outdoor space. We could fill a convention center twice the size at this point. Having an extension of our existing show in the spring will be a great complement to the current show and will allow us to bring in more and bigger displays,” said JBM & Associates President, Jacqui Bomar.
