Spring fever hit Wall Street Plaza this year with a splash! Railapalooza, the biggest urban wake pool rail jam pulled by Cable Bahn's 2 tower system to hit the streets of downtown Orlando.
50 Riders, including names like Raph Derome, Meagan Ethell and Davis Havens fought it out for $5000 in cash and prizes with judges like Dallas Friday, Nicola Butler and Laz. The contest, venue, sponsors, rails setup and entertainment was so legit MTV was on hand to film rail time for The Wake Brothers, the upcoming reality show on the Soven brothers, starting this summer.
The Scene players who came together to bring this production to fruition hail from Indiana, Palm Beach County and Orlando. They were Zach Lear from Great Wakes Entertainment, founder of the Icebreaker Wakefest Tour, Rishy Rajoo from Ready-2-Ride Productions, promoters of local grass roots winch events in South Florida, and the director Ryan Bean, a pro wakeboarder sponsored by Wakeology, DNA energy and Fuel Clothing. The partners' strategic alliances included names like Step Up Productions, Cable Bahn, Ridiculous Winches and Wall Street Plaza.
From what the thousands who came said on social media, the event was an overwhelming success! The riders were stoked to be pulled for the first time in history by Cable Bahn’s 2 tower system. Many were impressed by the fact that the contest was run so seamlessly. The spectators and fans who came from all around the country and world to see this awesome event unfold were entertained by stilt walkers, oxygen booths and bands like Common Ground, Kaya Vibe, Hor!zon, KOR, Randy live drummer & B Liminal!
