A keen wakeboarding enthusiast and product designer from Cornwall, UK has designed an innovative approach to safely securing a Go Pro camera onto a wakeboard, and is hoping to raise funds for its manufacture through Kickstarter.
The KB Mount for Go Pro allows the rider to mechanically fasten the camera to almost all models of wakeboards, utilising the fin screw holes already located on the nose and tail of the board, without the need to drill extra holes or use adhesive sticky pads.
KB Mount designer, Alex Money, said: “I was quite surprised when I bought my Go Pro in 2013 to discover the lack of products available that securely fasten the camera to the board.
“The KB Mount offers a strong, slim line and versatile solution at a relatively cheap cost, to film great footage from a unique angle whilst ensuring the hardware is safe and secure.”
The KB Mount will launch on Kickstarter.com today, with an Early Bird Special - 1 KB Mount for Go Pro in black - for the first 50 backers who pledge £20.
Alex continues: “I wanted to be sure there was a viable market before committing to this and felt Kickstarter would be a good idea to see if there was enough interest internationally for such a product. I need to ensure £7000 is pledged by Tuesday March 18 2014 to enable manufacture to begin.”
