Jobe's First Ever Masters Wakeboard & Waterski Tournament Attendance

Share

JobeOrlando, FL – The 54th Masters Wakeboard and Waterski Tournament went into the history books at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. Jobe was present at the Masters for the very first time since its return to the U.S.! Jobe set up shop to display a selection of its 2013 wake & ski collections and support its team athletes. A total of six Jobe athletes were invited to compete in the prestigious event this year: Austin Hair, Franck Desboyaux, Josh Briant, Michale Briant, Steph Griffiths and Bojan Schipner!

Austin’s first competition at the Masters unfortunately did not result in a podium placing right away. The Masters can be an intimidating place to compete for first-timers, and Austin didn’t make it to the Pro Men Wakeboard finals on Sunday.

Franck Desboyaux however has competed -and scored- at the Masters several times before. His experience and focus led him to repeat his last year’s podium placement; Franck took home 3rd place again in the Pro Men Trick division!

Aussie brother/sister team Bryant wasn’t so lucky as to repeat their rankings from last year… Defending Jr. Men’s Overall AND Jr. Men's Tricks Masters Champion Joshua Briant couldn’t compete due to an ankle injury, and sister Michale didn’t make it through to Pro Women’s Trick finals.

Jobe Sports Australia athlete Steph Griffiths, however, managed to still make the weekend a success for all Aussies by taking home first place in the Junior Women Jump division!

Finally, Bojan Schipner got called to the Masters last-minute by winning LCQ the weekend before. He jumped his heart out in the Pro Men Jump division, but got edged out by the likes of Freddy Krueger and Ryan Dodd.

Jobe proudly congratulates Franck & Steph!

About the Masters
The Masters is known to be one of the most prestigious and classic tournaments in the world, as only the world’s most elite athletes are invited to compete in the event. As every year, the competition was hosted at Robin Lake again; a lake built specifically for the Masters. This beautiful site offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the competition’s action from the beach and picnic areas, and to check out all vendor booths set up at the event as well.
