Free Day of Fun Saturday, April 27 At Wake Nation Houston’s Liquid Force ‘Free For All’ Event

Share

Wake NationHOUSTON, TX - Some of the world’s top watersport athletes, including Austin raised cable champion Tom Fooshee, will be in Houston Saturday, April 27 to demonstrate their gravity-defying wakeboarding skills and meet the public at Wake Nation Houston, the city’s first and only full-size cable wakeboarding park in Rosharon. Best of all: It’s all free!

It’s all part of the special Liquid Force "Free For All" event at the cable wakeboarding park. The one-of-a-kind event will be a day of music, food, giveaways, professional wakeboarding demos and FREE wakeboarding for the public –all thanks to Liquid Force, the biggest name in watersports and Houston’s only wakeboarding park, Wake Nation.

During the Liquid Force "Free For All" event, the public can "hit the water for free and will have the opportunity to try out the new 2013 Liquid Force products on-site throughout the day. Exclusive free ride time for the public on Wake Nation’s 12-acre lake runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

In addition, the public can also get personal tips and pointers from Liquid Force’s global team riders, such as wakeboard rail-riding expert Kevin Henshaw and wake skating pros Aaron Reed and Andrew Fortenberry. These top professionals along with Tom Fooshee, will also be demonstrating their amazing skills on the water.

"It will be a party-like atmosphere in a relaxed, non-intimidating environment, fun for the first-timer and the seasoned veterans alike," said Wake Nation Houston General Manager Luke Becker.

Monster Energy will be on-site providing free refreshments and the public will have the chance to get free giveaways from sponsors like Spy Optic, Axis Wake Research, New Era, GoPro and TransWorld Wakeboarding Magazine.

Wake Nation Houston opened to rave reviews in 2011 and has grown into one of the country’s premier cable wakeboarding parks. At Wake Nation Houston, riders can wakeboard, water ski, wake skate and kneeboard without a boat. A rider’s need for a boat has been eliminated by an innovative, overhead circulating cable system that runs 35 feet above the water. The cable tows riders around a 12-acre lake at speeds of 18-20 mph. Up to seven riders can be on the cable at the same time, with access to a course of nine custom-built jumps, grind rails and sliders.

Wake Nation Houston also has two, two-tower cable structures called "easy start" ride systems, located in separate areas on the main lake. The "easy start" cables are designed to provide kids and wakeboarding beginners a separate area to learn to ride a wakeboard at a slower speed than on the main lake. All riders must be at least 7 years of age and are required to wear a Coast Guard Approved (CGA) life vest and a helmet, which are available at Wake Nation.

The Wake Nation Houston complex has a full pro shop, equipment rental shop, concessions area, huge outdoor observation deck offering a panoramic view of the entire lake area and numerous other services and amenities.

Wake Nation Houston is located at 4411 County Road 418 Rosharon, TX near Pearland, south of the Sam Houston Parkway. Currently, the park is open Wednesdays-Friday, noon to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (closed Mondays and Tuesdays). The full-time daily summer season begins Wednesday, May 1. (See website for 2013 operating schedule.)
