LOUDON, Tenn. – Continuing to meet the demand of towed-watersports enthusiasts worldwide, Axis Wake Research announced production of the A24 towboat, capping off the A-Series trio, which also includes the very popular A20 and A22 models. In addition, the brand will be offering the groundbreaking innovation, Surf Gate, as an option on all models in the 2014 model year.
The A24 boasts a large capacity and family-friendly layout, while also delivering world-class wakes and responsive handling. The hull is designed for the family or crew that wants to experience it all; with new technology that enhances the performance and versatility of the wakeboarding and wakesurfing experience. This 24-foot boat is positioned for budget-conscious enthusiasts and families looking for space, performance, versatility and affordable essentials.
Danny Gasper, Malibu Boats/Axis Wake Research Director of Product Design, has been responsible for top innovations with the company for 26 years and is ecstatic to see the first A24 roll off the assembly line and into the water. "We wanted to build a big boat with a lot of space, that incorporates handling characteristics usually found only on smaller boats," Gasper said. "This boat delivers a perfect wake for beginners at slower speeds, all the way to our top pros like Randall Harris who rides over 28 M.P.H. with a 92-foot rope. And now, having the ability to switch activities immediately and wakesurf makes the A24 an absolute dream machine."
Surf Gate, debuted by Malibu Boats to the market on June 15, 2012, is a groundbreaking innovation that allows for wakesurfing on either side of an evenly weighted boat. It has inspired new levels of riding, transfers, tricks and ease of use. True to Axis form, Surf Gate will be operated with the ease of a toggle switch on the dashboard and you can drop The Wedge down to create a larger wave. While other brands lean to the left or to the right, Axis remains Centered On You.
Jack Springer, CEO of Malibu Boats, LLC is very excited to announce both the A24 and Surf Gate to the Axis lineup. "In 2013, we saw an overwhelming acceptance and response to Surf Gate on our Malibu Wakesetter's," Springer said. "Since we hear and listen to our Axis customers, it only made sense to provide Surf Gate throughout our Axis line as well. We are committed to producing the most versatile towboats on the water and Surf Gate is crucial for people who are into wakesurfing at any level."
