On Tuesday, January 26th the Parks Bonifay Documentary received the award for "Best Biography" and was nominated for "Best Editing" and "Best Film" at the X-Dance Action Sports Film Festival in Salt Lake City. X-Dance is an annual film festival for all movies created in and around action and outdoor sports
and it runs parallel to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. This accolade from the action sports film community represents huge recognition for wakeboarding, for Parks and for Alliance Visual Experiences specifically.
Bill McCaffray, Executive Producer said, "We believed that the appeal of the story of Parks Bonifay went well beyond the audiences within our community and the award of "Best Biography" is solid confirmation. An X-Dance award for the Parks Documentary is the type of recognition that grows participation and the industry. Arguably, the Parks Documentary, through the incredible life story of one of our most charismatic athletes, will help introduce our sport to more people and create closer ties within the action sports arena."
A few of the other standout films to show at X-Dance were Project X, Mt Saint Elias, Modern Collective, The Drifter and Signatures. Go to x-dance.com for the rest of the winners and this year's lineup of the 35 films accepted from over 140 entries.
