Horse racing claims the first Saturday in May, and Colorado’s wake scene claims the first Saturday in June. The MileHigh Meet and Greet is back and bigger than ever for 2012. After a huge year at Lake Pueblo, with 29 boats and close to 250 people in attendance, 2012 is lining up to double last year’s attendance.
Mark your calendars for June 1-3, 2012. The Mile HighMeet and Greet is moving back to Colorado’s party lake, Horsetooth Reservoir. “Putting Colorado’s wakeboard scene on the map and giving riders an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and share their passion is our main goal,” said Kraig Kaiser, founder and visionary behind the MileHigh Meet and Greet.
Eight years after the first Meet and Greet, it now is the must attend event in Colorado to kick off the wakeboarding season. The weekend is filled with pre-party, giveaways, riding and is capped off with a tie-up that could be the largest boat tie-up that Colorado has ever seen. Early estimates for the 2012 Meet and Greet predict over 50 boats and attendance nearing 400 riders. The South Bay Campground is ground zero for camping and the giveaway.
