12th Annual Toys For Tots Holiday Fundraiser

Share

Total Amount Raised: $11,287.57

Every year we hit up companies and individuals in the wake industry and ask them to donate items that we subsequently auction off to raise money for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. It's always a great time to spend a pile of money on buying toys, but doing it for kids that may not otherwise get any gifts for the holidays makes it that much better. Check the photos and video below if you don't believe me! We've WakeWorld Toys For Tots Drivebeen doing it for 12 years and have raised nearly $90,000 for Toys For Tots and it just never gets old. This year we raised $11,224.42 and $10,224.42 of that went to Toys For Tots. The other $1,000 went toward Ben LeClair's rehabilitation fund in order to help with the medical costs related to his spinal injury that occurred the weekend before our auctions began. Ben's donation was made through Road To Recovery

For 2016 we had another batch of great companies that donated items ranging from wakeboards to sunglasses to wakeboard lessons. The biggest single donation was the WaveControl Wakesurf System that was offered up by WakeMakers with a retail value of $4,000. With this item selling for $3,300, somebody got a deal and we got a good chunk of change. CWB Board Co. has been our most consistently huge sponsor throughout the years and 2016 was no different. CWB offered up four brand new WakeWorld Toys For Tots Driveboard/binding packages and two handle/line packages for a total retail value of over $3,000. All of these CWB items sold for over $1,000. Our top retail shop donation came from Tilly's Marine which donated seven brand new wakeboards with a total retail value of over $3,500 which sold for $1,156.

Other companies that certainly have earned an honorable mention for the amounts that their extremely generous donations brought in, include Wet Sounds ($661), Inland Surfer ($510), Fresh Air Exhaust ($480), Lead Wake ($335), CTI ($330) and Humanoid ( $318). And since we bought all our toys at Walmart, we were able to talk them into throwing in a $250 gift card so that we could buy even more toys! Last, but not least, we should mention Delkin Devices. Not only did they donate 10 items to our auctions, but they are the ones that put on the Toys WakeWorld Toys For Tots DriveFor Tots drive and spend the afternoon feeding us some great burgers and fixins.

Companies are not the only targets of our Toys For Tots drive. We also hit up the pro athletes in our industry and we're never disappointed with the packages they come up with! Many of these great folks have been donating for years. Rusty Malinoski donated an autographed Capix Rockstar helmet that sold for an amazing $152.50! When I told Rusty how much we had raised, he offered to donate another one so that the second place bidder could buy it for $150 for a total of over $300! Other pro riders that donated are Meagan Ethell, Harley Clifford, Austin Hair and Taylor McCullough.

Below is a full list of all the donors. We encourage you to support these amazing companies and individuals!

We ended up with 93 auctions in total that ran for one week in late November/early December.
