JD Webb Visits Wake Shoals
Date: 6/20/03 Author: Wake Shoals Press Release
The buttery smooth water of "the projects," a long stretch of flat water at the end of Shoals Creek, in Florence, Alabama will never be the same. JD Webb ripped it all up and took it with him!
Sixteen year old professional wakeboarder JD Webb blew into the Shoals area on Friday night, June 13th loaded with a lime green 2003 Mastercraft X2 wakeboard boat, Jeremy Baker, the Hyperlite Wakeboard representative, and Jeremy's "model look-a-like" girlfriend Amy.
The Saturday wakeboard event, hosted by Wakeshoals, was a blow out success. The event was a sure winner when over 40 area wakeboard enthusiast showed up to watch one of the world's best.
"Over 25 area riders took the opportunity to ride behind the mean green X2 and get instruction from JD. He hung out on the back of the boat handing out free instruction and encouragement to all of the riders, from beginners to advanced. Everyone that just wanted to ride in the boat were also welcomed," according to Ken Irby of Wakeshoals. "JD just completed a stop on the Professional Wakeboard Tour, it's neat to have JD and Jeremy visit our club and ride for us".
"The Shoals has some very nice riders. I was stoked with the riding of James Price, of the Shoals, and Joseph Boyette of Bear Creek. You guys have a cool wakeboard club going here. It will continue to grow with the good turnout of riders and fans, the smooth water and from the quality of the event I saw this weekend," says Webb.

Tiffany Landry will be visiting Wakeshoals on June 28th & 29th.
